Abu Khaytama [rahimahullaah] reported in
Kitaabul Ilm with a chain of transmission going back to Hasan al Basri, who
said, “When a man sits amongst the people and they consider him to be ignorant
even though he is not, then this is the Muslim who possesses understanding in
truth”.
