الرغبة and الرهبة These Are Two Acts of Worship That Lead To The Tawfeeq of Allaah – By Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said:

Ar-Raghbah [i.e. the fervent desire that necessitates seeking after good] and Ar-Rahbah [the fear that necessitates keeping away from evil deeds] are two provisions of Tawfeeq [i.e. when blessed with the ability to act and accomplish good deeds after knowing what is right and wrong], because when a person fears, it stops him from sin and when he has a fervent desire, it makes him act.

( حق الوالدين) The Rights of Parents

Shaykh Rabee's website: www.rabee.net

The Rights of Parents

The rights of parents remain even if they fell into innovation, even if they fell into shirk because it is necessary to accompany them in this worldly life with goodness.

Ibn Taymiyyah on Loving a Woman Unrestrictedly

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Ibn Taymiyyah: Anyone who attaches his heart to the creation for aid, provision or guidance will inevitably surrender his heart to it. He becomes enslaved to it (the creation) according to how much he is in need of it, even if- apparently- he seems to be the master and provider who is in charge  of its affairs. The intelligent one looks at the reality of things, not its appearance.

If a man is (greatly) in love with a woman, even if she was permissible for him, his heart will remain in her captivity. She will be in charge of him and do with him as she pleases. Although he outwardly appears to be her master, because he is her husband, in reality, he is her captive and her possession, especially if she is aware of his unrestricted love and dire need for her, and that (he thinks) she is irreplaceable.

Indeed, the captivity of the heart is worse than the captivity of the body, as the enslavement of the heart is worse than the enslavement  of the body.

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects)...- [Sûrah 6. Al-An‘âm: 159]

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects)[1], you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them what they used to do. [Sûrah 6. Al-Anâm: 159]

(V.6:159) It is said that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم recited this Verse and said: “These people are those who invent new things (Bid’ah) in religion and the followers of the vain desires of this nation, and their repentance will not be accepted by Allâh.” (Tafsîr Al-Qurtubî).

It has been narrated in the Hadîth  Books (At-Tirmidhî, Ibn Mâjah and Abu Dâwûd) that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “The Jews and the Christians will be divided into seventy-one or seventy-two religious sects and this nation will be divided into seventy-three religious sects, - all in Hell, except one, and that one is: on which I and my Companions are today, i.e. following the Qur’ân and the Prophet’s Sunnah (legal ways, orders, act of worship, statements)”].

Innovators are like scorpions

Explained by Shaykh Fawzan

Question: The questioner says: What is the meaning of the statement from some of the Salaf: The innovators are like the scorpion, he buries his head while leaving his tail out, such that when he is able to, he stings?

Shaykh Fawzan: Yes. This speech is clear. The people of innovation have with them hypocrisy. The people of innovation have been afflicted with hypocrisy. And it is that they display good while they hide evil, they display good to the people as a way of deception.

يُخَادِعُونَ اللهَ وَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

They try to deceive Allah and those who believe… (Soorah Al-Baqarah 2:9)

And they conceal the evil. And when they have the ability to spread evil, they spread it, just like the scorpion.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said, There are many cases where the Nufoos are mixed with Ash-Shahawaat Al-Khafiyyah [i.e. desires that are concealed, subtle etc] that corrupts its fulfilment of [perfect] love of Allaah, servitude to Him and establishment of the religion sincerely for the sake of Allaah, just as Shaddaad Ibn Aws [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, O Arabs! Indeed, the affair I fear for you the most is Riyaa and Shahwa Al-Khafiyyah. It was said to Abu Daawud As-Sijistaani, What is Ash-Shahwa Al-Khafiyyah? He said, Love of leadership'.
