Two Ugly Affairs

Two Ugly Affairs

Shaykh Al-Islām Ibn Taymiyah, may Allāh have mercy upon him, said:

Amongst the people there is he who Hasad leads him to backbite. Thus, he combines two ugly affairs: backbiting and envy.

Increasing good actions

In Muslim, it is reported on the authority of Aishah رضي الله عنها that Messenger of Allāh said, Everyone  of the children of Adam has been created with three hundred and sixty joints; so he who declares  the Glory of Allāh (i.e., saying Allāhu Akbar), praises Allāh (i.e., Al-hamdu lillāh), declares Allāh to be One (i.e., Lā ilāha illallāh), glorifies Allāh, and seeks forgiveness from Allāh (i.e., Astaghfirullāh), and removes stone, or thorn, or bone from peoples path, and enjoins good and forbids evil, to the number of those three hundred and sixty, will walk  that day having rescued himself from Hell.

“Let your tongue always be moist with the remembrance of Allāh.”

Abdullah bin Busr رضي الله عنه said that a man asked the Prophet , O Messenger of Allāh! Verily, the sanctions of Islam have become too numerous for me (to perform them all). Inform me of something (simple) that I may always adhere to. The Prophet said, Let your tongue always be moist with the remembrance of Allāh.

The sign of the person’s happiness ...

Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله said:

The sign of the person’s happiness is to turn their attention toward themselves, their sins, and faults, and to busy themselves with repentance and rectification. He will  not have  time to reflect over  what befell him; rather, he turns toward repentance. And Allāh will help him , protect him, and defend him. So what can bring about more joy than that for the slave?!

The value of one's time and the dangers of time

Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baaz  (رحمه الله  تعالى رحمة واسعة) said:

“… Time is life. Those who waste their time are actually  wasting their lives; and those who waste their lives will be full of regret  when it will be too late and will wish  that they could  turn back again  to the worldly life to act rightly. …”

Obtaining the Pleasure of Allāh

Yūnus Ibn Ubayd (d. 139 AH) رَحِمَهُ اللهُ – said:

“With good manners, you understand the knowledge. With this knowledge, your actions are corrected. With actions, wisdom is obtained. With wisdom, you understand zuhd (abstinence) and are granted its benefits. With zuhd comes abandoning the world. With abandoning  the world comes desire for the Hereafter. With desire for the Hereafter the pleasure of Allāh – the Mighty and Majestic – is obtained.”

Supplication is a cause for repelling misfortune just like the shield is a cause for repelling weapons

Al Hafiz An Nawawi رحمه الله said:

Supplication is a cause for repelling misfortune and the presence of mercy, just as how the shield is a cause for repelling the weapon and water is a cause for the emergence of plants from the ground. Therefore, just as how  the shield repels the arrow  such that they both struggle, such is the case  for supplication and misfortune. Not taking a shield isnt from the conditions of acknowledging predestination. Allaah,  the Most High, said, They should take precaution and carry weapons. Allaah predestined the affair (of being victorious) and its cause.

People’s Fear Of Diseases

People’s Fear Of Diseases

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

The diseases of the heart, [mind and soul] are more difficult than [those] of the body because the utmost [that] diseases of the body [can do] is lead those suffering from them to death. As for the diseases of the heart, [mind and soul], they lead those suffering from them to eternal misery, and there is no cure for this [kind of] disease other than knowledge [of true Islam].

Trials and Tribulation is a sign that Allaah loves good for us

126. See they not that they are put in trial once or twice every year (with different kinds of calamities, disease, famine)? Yet, they turn not in repentance, nor do they learn a lesson (from it).

Hasten towards obedience to Allaah

In The Name of Allaah The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

Whoever exercises patience during times of affliction, thankful during times of ease, submissive to Allaah (Glorified be He) when calamities occur, expresses disappointment about himself to Allaah, due to his sins and shortcomings, and seeks Allaah’s Mercy and Forgiveness, then indeed he [or she] will succeed with all success and with a praiseworthy end...

A few extract

.....

Disbelief and sins are the cause of every affliction and evil in this life and the next. As for Tawheed, belief in Allaah and His Messengers, obedience to Allaah and His Messengers, holding fast to Allaah’s Sharee’ah and calling to it, and rejecting what is in opposition to it, this is the cause of every good in this life and the hereafter.  And adhering firmly to it, enjoining it and co-operating upon it is the [real] source of honour in this life and the hereafter, safety from every hated thing and protection from every Fitnah, as Allaah [The Most High] said:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ

O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm. 47:7

Six Mighty Wisdoms Behind Why We Do Not Hear the Dead in Their Graves

Shaykh Ibn al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said, in his explanation of Al-Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah 2/118-119:

And this is for (numerous) mighty wisdoms, from them:

[1] What is indicated by the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) in his saying, “Were it not that you would not have buried (your dead) I would have invoked Allaah to let you hear (the cries) of the punishment of the grave.”

[2] Concealing it is a veil (covering) for the deceased.

[3] That it does not cause the deceased’s family to be disturbed.

[4] Not embarrassing (shaming) of his family, since the people will say “This is your son”, “This is your father”,This is your brother” and what is like this.

[5] That we may perish (as a result) because it is not a light type of screaming, it is a screaming that will cause our hearts to be plucked out , a person will die or may fall unconscious (out of fear, terror).

[6] If the people heard the cries of the deceased being punished, then faith in the punishment of the grave would be reduced to faith through direct observation and not faith in the unseen, and therefore the purposeful benefit of testing people would be lost, because the people would obviously believe in what they witness. However, when it is hidden from them and they do not know of it except through relayed information (khabar), then it becomes from faith in the unseen.

May Allaah reward the brother who sent me this benefit!

Allah is Oft-Forgiving Full of Love

Allah the Exalted said:

وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ

And He is Oft-Forgiving, Full of love (Soorah Al Burûj 85:14)

Imam as-Sa’di said: The subtly for “Full of love” being coupled with “Oft-Forgiving” is to show the sinners if they repent to Allah, He will forgive them of their sins and He will love them. Those who say the repentant sinners are forgiven but the love does not return to them are incorrect.

Surah Ash-Shūra (verse 42:20)

Allaah said:

“Whosoever desires  (by his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (by his deeds), We give him thereof (what is decreed for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.

Save yourself from the fire by having taqwa of Allāh!..

Save yourself from the fire by having taqwa of Allāh and (likewise) save your children from the fire by way of (giving them) righteous cultivation upon Islam and upon (performing actions of) the religion and having excellent manners. If not  (i.e. if you have not given them this cultivation) then, indeed you have betrayed the responsibility which you were entrusted with.

How do you deal with trials and tribulation?

Az-Zubair bin ‘Adi said:

We went to Anas bin Mâlik رضي الله عنه and complained to him of suffering at the hands of Al-Hajjâj. He replied: “Show endurance, for no time will come but will be followed by one worse (than the present one) till you meet your Rubb, I heard this from your Prophet .” [Al-Bukhârî)

Commentary: This Hadîth contains the prediction that with the passage of time, conditions will become from bad to worse with the result that the rulers would become more and more cruel. In such circumstances, the remedy suggested here is that rather than making any effort to reform the rulers, one should try to reform oneself and worry to make one’s own life in the Hereafter, and endure patiently the tyrannies perpetrated by the rulers.
