People have two strengths...

Ibn  Taymiyyah رَحِمَهُ اللهُ said:

People have two strengths: strength of love and strength of hate. Mankind was only created this way so that they may love the truth which Allāh loves and hate the falsehood which Allāh hates, and those are the ones who love Allāh and are loved by Allāh.

“A slave of Allah may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him in degrees...”

 .....

It is reported in the two saheehs from the hadeeth of Abu Hurairah (radiyallāhu ʿanhu) who said that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) said:

“A slave of Allah may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him in degrees—and a slave of Allah may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire.”

Sincerity is to be saved from Shirk and Riyā’

Fuayl ibn Iya (رحمه الله) said:

Performing an action for the sake of the people is Shirk, and abandoning an action for the sake of the people is showing off (Riyā’). And (true) sincerity is for Allāh to save you from both of them (Shirk and Riyā’).

Verily, this hardens the heart...

Shaykh Al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:

The more the tongue utters speech void of the remembrance of Allāh, then the harder the heart becomes. Many people waste their time  with gossip, with speech that contain no benefit, and with laughter, play and heedlessness. Verily, this hardens the heart.

Ibn al-Qayyim on the Origin of Diseases, Calamities and Hardships

Ibn al-Qayyim on the Origin of Diseases, Calamities and Hardships

Ibn al-Qayyim (رَحِمَهُ اللهُ) said:

“For Allāh, the Sublime, with His wisdom (ikmah) and justice (ʿadl) makes the (consequences) of the actions of the servants to appear to them  in forms (ūwar) that are appropriate to (their actions). So sometimes it is in the form of a drought or barrenness (of land). Other times it is by way of an enemy. Other times by way of tyrannical rulers. Other times by way of general diseases. Other times it is by anxiety, grief and worry that (settle and) reside in their souls and do not leave them. Other times it is by preventing the blessings from the sky  and the Earth from them. Other times  it is by unleashing the devils upon them to incite them to the causes of their destruction, so that His word can be established upon them and so that each of them arrives at the outcome destined for him. The intelligent (ʿāqil) traverses with his insight (baīrah) in all regions of the world and witnesses this, and he sees the occurrence (of these instances) of Allāh’s justice and wisdom taking place.”1

How the scholars of Islām would honour their parents

Talq Ibn Habeeb (died before 100AH) رحمه الله used to kiss his mother’s head and he would not walk on top of a house if his mother was below him (inside the house) out of honour and respect for her.

A Righteous Wife Is...

Imām ‘Abdul-‘Azīz ibn Bāz رحمه الله said:

A righteous wife is one who is steadfast upon the commands of Allāh. She guards her Prayers by praying them at the correct times. She keeps herself far away from displaying her beautification when  she goes out to the marketplaces. She is well known for her fine conduct, appearance and behaviour. This is the righteous wife.

Shaykh Fawzān حفظه الله said:

A Muslim woman must also not be excessive in going out from her house unless it is for a valid necessity  that cannot be fulfilled unless she goes out. So if she has a need to go out,  she must cover herself and not go out perfumed. The reason for this is that if she goes out perfumed, it is a cause for the occurrence of evil and the drawing of looks towards her, as well as men gazing at her. So however much a woman is able to stay at home, this is more protective of her.

I had a situation so I went to the Messenger of Allāh. So he said: You there; are you married? I responded: Yes. He then enquired: How do you treat your husband? I said: I do not fall short except in what I have no capability to do. He said: Look how you treat him because he is your paradise and your fire.

How divine remedies affect diseases

-----

The heart was created to acquire knowledge of its Creator and to love Him, worship Him Alone, be content with Him, to be joyous loving Him and to feel satisfied with Him. The heart was also created to rely on Allāh, to love fo His Sake, hate for His Sake, to be loyal for His Sake, to be enemies of His enemies for His Sake and to remember Him always. The heart was created to love Him more than anyone or anything else, to have Hope in Him rather than anyone or anything else and to revere Him more than anything or anyone else. There is no joy, happiness, delight or sweetness except by acquiring such qualities, which are just like food, good health and life for the heart. When the heart looses its food, health and life, then sadness, grief and affliction will attack it from all sides and will remain with it.

The worst diseases that attack the heart are Shirk (polytheism, making partners with Allāh), sins, and forgetfulness, ignoring what Allāh likes and is pleased with, abandoning relating all matters to Him and not depending on Him for everything. Diseases of the heart also include relying  on other than Allāh, rejecting His decisions and doubting and ignoring His warnings and promises.

When one thinks about the diseases of the heart, he will find that the reasons that we mentioned are the only ones behind these ills.

The Ruling of the Effects of the Tattoo Remaining on the Body

The Ruling of the Effects of the Tattoo Remaining on the Body

Shaykh Abdul Azeez bin Abdullaah bin Baz –Rahimahullaah- (d. 1420 A.H.) said:

When a Muslim gets tattooed whilst in a state of ignorance of it being prohibited, or whilst he was young, then it is necessary for him to remove them after having knowledge that it is prohibited. However, if there is a hardship in removing it or harm, then repentance and seeking forgiveness is sufficient.

Saudi King Abdul Azeez (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said:

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

.....

Saudi King Abdul Azeez (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said:

Indeed, the progress and advancement of the Muslims is among those affairs we (pursue). We call to it by the will of Allaah; (but) there cannot be advancement for the Muslims without a return to their religion, adherence to their sound creed and holding onto the Rope of Allaah [i.e. the Qur’aan and the Sunnah]. The path towards this is clear and facilitated for the one who wants to follow it, and that is to single out Allaah in worship – to be free from shirk and bidah- and act on that which the religion has commanded us, for indeed there is no benefit in speech if not [accompanied] by action.
