From that which aids upon having patience upon acts of obedience is:

Who is the Happy One?

The Prophet صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسلَّمَ said:

“Verily, the happy one is the one who is protected from fitan.”

Something that many of us fall short in is to check our hearts & to strive in purifying it from all sicknesses such as shirk, hypocrisy, jealousy, spite & other sicknesses. Your heart is the foundation of all your actions & statements. A sound heart – righteousness upon the limbs.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

“It is a must for a person that he always asks Allaah to purify his heart, and that he should take care and concern in regards to the actions of the heart. And a person giving care and attention to the actions of the heart should be more than the care and attention he gives to the action of the limbs, that is because the actions of the limbs are performed by everyone, by the believer and the hypocrite, however the deeds of the heart are (more) important. I ask Allaah that He rectifies all of our hearts.”

Shaikh Rabī’ Ibn Hādī stated:

Shaikh Rabī’ Ibn Hādī stated: “By Allāh there are people who wear the garbs of Salafiyyah, they do not enjoin the good, nor forbid the evil let alone against ahlul-bid’a. This is something present. By Allah! These people are more severe upon Salafiyyah than the apparent people of innovation and all the opposers. They wear the garbs of Salafiyyah, and they deceive the people, they rebut the truth, and they aid falsehood – and this is something present…”

This is how the Salaf were in their Taqwa of Allah

Abu Dardā رضي الله عنه used to say:

“The greatest of what I fear upon myself on the Day of Judgment is that it be said to me; ‘Oh Abā Dardā, you knew (had knowledge) so how did you act upon what you knew?”

The Patience contained within Fasting

Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih al Uthaymeen رحمه الله mentions regarding fasting:

- Patience upon obedience to Allāh.

- Patience upon abstaining from that which Allāh has forbidden.

- Patience upon the decree of Allāh, difficulties of hunger, thirst, weakness of one’s body and self.

Indeed the three categories of patience (Sabr) are contained within it (fasting), so certainly the fasting person is considered from the “Sabireen”, and indeed Allāh The Most High said:

إِنَّما يَوفَّى الصَّابرونَ أَجْرهُم بِغيرِ حِساب

{…Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning.} [Az-Zumar: 10]

Imām Ahmad mentions in describing the people of innovation:

 ----

Imām Ahmad mentions in describing the people of innovation:

“..They utter ambiguous statements, and they begile the ignorant people by way of the ambiguity they present to them, so we seek refuge from the fitan of the people of misguidance!”

Concerning this tremendous statement Shaikhul Islām mentions in Minhājus Sunnah:

“The intent here is that they corrupt the textual evidences through that which they attribute to them from Qarmatah (definition will follow below) and distorting words from their places, just as they have corrupted intellectual evidences, and reversed the nature of perceived affairs from their reality, and by changing the Fitra that Allah has created things upon. Therefore they use general ambiguous speech, because that is better for purposes of delusion and misrepresentation.”

The Characteristics of the Saved Sect (Al-Firqah Al-Najiyah) - Fatwas of Permanent Commitee

The Characteristics of the Saved Sect (Al-Firqah Al-Najiyah)

The third question of Fatwa no. 6229

Question 3:  Please tell us the characteristics of the Saved Sect; who are they, what is their methodology and what is their country if there is any mention of it in the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) or in the statements of scholars?

Answer: The Saved Sect is the one that follows in the footsteps of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions as defined by the Prophet (peace be upon him). Their methodology is following the Qur’an and Sunnah as well as other rules based upon them.

However, they are not located exclusively in a given country.

May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.

KNOWLEDGE –AL-KHALEEL IBN AHMAD

*al-Haafiz  Aboo  ‘Umar Yoosuf ibn ‘Abdil-Barr -rahimahullaah- said in his  Jaami’ Bayaanil – ‘Ilm  wa Fadlihi(1/584/no.1001):

al-Khaleel ibn Ahmad1  -rahimahullaah- said:

I never heard anything  except that I wrote it down, and I never wrote anything down except  that I memorized it, and I never memorized anything except that it benefited me”.

1 He was al-Khaleel ibn Ahmad al-Azdee, al-Faraaheedee, Aboo Abdir-Rahmaan, al-Basree. The scholar of the language. He compiled the famous dictionary of the Arabic language al-‘Ayn’, and initiated al-‘Arood(the science of of prosody/versification of Arabic poetry). He studied under Ayyoob as-Sakhtiyaanee, ‘Aasim al-Ahwal, and others. His students included Hammad ibn Zayd, Seebawayh, and an-Nadr ibn Shumayl. Ibraaheem al-Harbee said: He was a person of the Sunnah. He was born in the year 100H, and died in the year 170 or 175H. And whoever is removed away from the Fire & admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion

The Prophet said:

Paradise is surrounded with difficulties and hardships, and the Hell-Fire is surrounded with lusts and desires.”

[Saheeh Muslim]

Haafidh an-Nawawee رحمه الله said:

“This is from the exquisite, eloquent and concise speech which he (the Prophet)  was given,  by way of which  he gives a beautiful analogy and example. And its meaning is: Paradise will not be reached except by going through difficulties and hardships, and (those who enter) the Hell-Fire it will be due to lusts and desires. As for the hardships, restraining one’s anger, pardoning others, forbearance, giving in charity, doing good to the one who treats you badly, having patience in staying away from lusts, desires and the likes of that. As for the desires and lusts which the Hell-Fire is surrounded by, then what is apparent is that they are the desires which are forbidden, such as alcohol, fornication, looking at women who are non-mahram, backbiting, playing of musical instruments and the likes of that.”

The Deen is Built Upon Two Principles

THE DEEN IS BUILT UPON TWO PRINCIPLES

Translated By Abbas Abu Yahya

Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al-Jami Rahimahullaah said:

أَصِلُ دِيننَا عَلَى إِخْلَاَصِ الْعِبَادَةِ لله وَتَجْرِيدَ

الْمُتَابَعَةِ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ

يَجِبُ أَنْ يَفْهَمَ كُلُّ مُسْلِمُ أَنَّ دِينَهُ مَبْنِيٌّ عَلَى

هاذين الْأَصْلَيْنِ

The origin of our Deen is having Ikhlaas (sincerity) of worship for Allaah and purely following the Messenger of Allaah

It is obligatory upon every Muslim to understand that his Deen is built upon these two principles.’

The Fruits of Perfect Faith

In the Two aīs, it is recorded that the Messenger of Allāh said,

The residents of Illiyyin  (in Paradise) are seen from those below them, just as you see the distant planet in the horizon of the sky.

They said, O Allāhs Messenger! They are the grades of the Prophets that none except them would attain. The Prophet said,

Rather, by He in Whose Hand is my soul! They are for men who have faith in Allāh and believed in the Messengers.[1]

The sign of one who Allah wants good for

Al Imaamul Aajurri mentions in As Shariah1/301:

The sign of one who Allah wants good for, is that he follows this path: the book of Allah The Sunan of the messenger of Allah, and the sunan of his companions and those who follow them upon goodness. Likewise that which the Imaams of the Muslims were upon from every land to the another, those who are from the Ulamaa, the likes of Al Awzaa’ie, Sufyaan Ath Thowri, Maalik ibn Anas, Ash Shaafiee’, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Al Qaasim bin Salaam and those who are upon their path and staying away from every path these Ulamaa have dispraised.

Taqwa is the cause for all goodness and its key and the reason behind every good in this life and the Hereafter.

 ....

Taqwa is one of the most important causes of relieving any kind of hardship like those of poverty, oppression, ignorance, sins, evil deeds, Shirk (associating others with Allah in His Divinity or worship), Kufr (disbelief) and the like. The best remedy for those ills is fearing Allah (Exalted be He) as He should be feared through abandoning committing sins and evil deeds which He and His Messenger (peace be upon him) have forbidden. This could also be attained through learning and fully understanding the religion so as to be rid of ignorance. This could also be done through abandoning committing sins and evil deeds to be secure against its bad consequences in this life and the Hereafter…

Hasten to obedience and be on your guard against disobedience, and cooperate in righteousness and piety.

Shaykhul Islam ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

“It is not a condition of being (muttaqun) conscious of Allah and their likes to not fall into sin and be infallible from mistakes and sins. Verily, if that is the case there will be no mutaqqun  in this nation (ummah). Rather, whoever has repented from sins is considered to be amongst those who are conscious  of Allah and whoever does a deed which expiates his sins is considered muttaqun.”

On the authority of Al-Baraa (رضي الله عنه), a man said  to him,

O Abaa Amārah, (regarding  the saying of Allaah),

And do not throw (yourselves) with your (own) hands into destruction (2:195)

No, it is a man who commits a sin and says; Allaah will not forgive me.
