3. Fasting narrows and weakens the activity of Shayṭān who circulates in the body like blood. [It is said that this similitude is mentioned due to the intricacy of the devil's evil whispers, and its flowing into the victim's heart. (Al-Mihāj Sharḥ Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim:14/157)]. Fasting weakens the devil's activities. In this, the sins of the fasting person are reduced.
