Random Quote of the Day

Abu Sulaymaan (rahimahullaah) said:

Abstinence from the worldly life is to abandon that which preoccupies you away from [ the remembrance and obedience to] Allaah.

He (rahimahullaah) also said:

Everything that preoccupies you away from [remembrance and obedience to] Allaah – be it [your] family, wealth and children – then indeed it is misfortune.

Dhikr for Repentance:

From Ibn Umar –RadhiAllaahu anhumma – who said:

We would count that the Messenger of Allaah –sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam – would say in one sitting one hundred times:

رَبِّ اغْفِرْلِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

‘O my Lord forgive me and accept my repentance indeed You are the One who forgives and most merciful.’

O Mankind! Verily, the Promise of Allah is True.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۢ ٨

8. Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allāh, and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلمIslāmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise).

[Sûrah Fussilat 41:8]

You should love those who advise you

Shaykh Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:

Everyone who does you a favor – especially concerning the religion, advice, enjoining the good and forbidding the evil – then this necessitates from you, that you love him and show him love.

In contrast to what some of the people do now; if you enjoin them with good , prevent them from evil, or invite them to good, or direct them to guidance, then he may find in his heart hatred towards you. And this contradicts common sense and this contradicts the religion.

The one who does not establish the true reality of Laa-ilaaha ilal laah – Shaykh Rabee

THE ONE WHO DOES NOT ESTABLISH THE TRUE REALITY OF LAA-ILAAHA ILAL LAAH

Question:

Will the one who does not establish the true reality of “laa ilaaha illa Allah” enter paradise or hellfire?

Answer:

It is inevitable that the one who does not establish the conditions of laa ilaaha illa Allah will enter the fire. If he wasn’t sincere; if he wasn’t truthful; if he did not know its meaning; if he said Laa ilaaha illa Allah and explained it as “there is no creator except Allah (and) “there is no provider except Allah,” (then even) if we were to (give) him the excuse of ignorance the least about him is that he is from the misguided sects.

Eagerness to (learn) the Ḥadith

Narrated Abû Huraira رضي الله عنه : I said “Allâh’s Messenger! Who will be the luckiest person, who will gain your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?” Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: O ‘Abu Huraira! I have thought that none will ask me about it before you as I know your eagerness to (learn) the adîth. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who said sincerely from (the bottom of) his heart  Lâ ilahâ ill-Allâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh).”

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “The lifespan of a person is the period of his life..."

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

The lifespan of a person is the period of his life, and there is no life for the one who has turned away from the (worship) of Allaah, and is occupied with other than Him, rather the life of the animals is better than his life. For indeed, a persons life is by way of his heart and soul, and there is no life for a persons heart except by having knowledge of  its Creator, having love for Him, and worship of Him alone, turning to Him in repentance, having tranquility and comfort in His remembrance, and having delight in drawing closer to Him. So whoever is deprived of this life has indeed been deprived of goodness in its entirety. Rather there is nothing in this world with all that it has that could compensate for this life (of having knowledge of Allaah, worshipping Him, and having delight in drawing closer to Him etc.)

Random Quote of the Day

Abū Bakr ibn Ayyāsh said:

“If a person were to lose a dirham, he would spend his whole day saying, ‘To Allāh we belong! My dirham is gone!’ Yet his day is wasted and he does not say, ‘My day is wasted, I did not do good actions.”’

How do you know if your heart is sound or sick...

The illustrious scholar, Shaykh ‘Abdu Rahmân ibn Nâsir As-Sa’dee (d.1367H) رحمه الله stated,

The sound and upright heart does not desire nor incline , except towards goodness, or towards that which Allaah has made permissible for him. So when you see the heart inclining towards disobedience, quick to submit to it (i.e. sins) then it is sick.

Fear Allāh and hide your sins.

Ibn Mas’ūd said,

“A believer sees his sins as if he were sitting under a mountain afraid it may fall on him but the persistent sinner sees his sins as flies hovering around his nose so he just waves them away like this (with his hand).”
