Only Allāh Deserves To Be Worshipped

Imām ‘Abd al-Ramān ibn Nāṣir al-Sa’dī said:

“If He alone is the Creator, Inventor of all things, and Bestower of forms, possessing no partner in any of these actions, then He is the only  deity worshipped in truth. There is none  besides Him deserving of any form of worship. For He is the creator of the essences, actions and attributes of His creation. He guides  whom He wills and sends astray whom He wills. He allows the believer to believe and the disbeliever to disbelieve, without forcing or compelling His servants to engage in that which is undesirable to them."

The Salaf and their fear of Allaah

 .....

Imām Amad Ibn Nar Al-Marwazi reported in Kitāb A-alāh (the Book of Prayer) that Abū Al-ʿĀliyah said, “The Prophet’s Companions used to think that no sin would harm a person who says ‘Lā ilāha illāllāh,’ just as no good deed would benefit a person who joins partners with Allāh. So Allāh  revealed,

Obey Allāh and obey the Messenger and do not invalidate your deeds.

This made them fear that some sins could nullify their deeds.”*

Every Good Upon the Earth is Due to the Tawheed of Allaah and Worship of Him and Obedience to His Messenger

-----

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

Whoever reflects over the circumstances of the world, he will find that every goodness in the earth – its reason is the Tawheed of Allaah and worshipping Him and obedience to His Messenger, and that every evil in the world and tribulation and trial and drought and empowered supremacy of an enemy and other than that – its reason is opposing His Messenger and the call to other than Allaah and His Messenger. Likewise, whoever reflects over this in true reflection and contemplates over the circumstances of the world – from its inception until now; and up until Allaah reclaims the earth and those that are upon it, he will find this affair to be exclusively of relevance within himself as well as in the right of other than himself – in general and in particular.

Three things that will bring salvation

Ibn Jarīr recorded that Yazīd bin Abi Maryam said:

“Umar, may Allāh be pleased with him, passed by Mu’ādh bin Jabal and asked, ‘What is the foundation of this Ummah?’ Mu’ādh said, “Three things, and they are the things that will bring salvation: Al-Ikhlā(doing a deed for Allāh alone), which is the Firah with which Allāh created mankind; alāh, which is the thing that tells a believer apart from a disbeliever; and obedience, which is protection.’ ‘Umar said: ‘You have spoken the truth.”

How divine remedies affect diseases

-----

The heart was created to acquire knowledge of its Creator and to love Him, worship Him Alone, be content with Him, to be joyous loving Him and to feel satisfied with Him. The heart was also created to rely on Allāh, to love fo His Sake, hate for His Sake, to be loyal for His Sake, to be enemies of His enemies for His Sake and to remember Him always. The heart was created to love Him more than anyone or anything else, to have Hope in Him rather than anyone or anything else and to revere Him more than anything or anyone else. There is no joy, happiness, delight or sweetness except by acquiring such qualities, which are just like food, good health and life for the heart. When the heart looses its food, health and life, then sadness, grief and affliction will attack it from all sides and will remain with it.

The worst diseases that attack the heart are Shirk (polytheism, making partners with Allāh), sins, and forgetfulness, ignoring what Allāh likes and is pleased with, abandoning relating all matters to Him and not depending on Him for everything. Diseases of the heart also include relying  on other than Allāh, rejecting His decisions and doubting and ignoring His warnings and promises.

When one thinks about the diseases of the heart, he will find that the reasons that we mentioned are the only ones behind these ills.

Trials and Tests Distinguish the Believer from the Hypocrite

From the way of Allāhthe Glorified, the Most High – with His creation, is that He trials and tests them. He does not leave them without trials and tribulation, for if He was to leave mankind without trialling them, then the believer would not be distinguished from the hypocrite and the truthful would not become clear from the liar.

Random Quote of the Day

Im
ām ʿAbdur-Ramān As-Saʿdī رحمه الله said:

The slave who knows that he will be questioned about what he says and does and about what he uses his limbs that Allāh has created to worship Him for, should prepare an answer to the questioning, and this can only be done by using them in worshipping Allāh, purifying the religion for Him (alone), and abstaining from what Allāh, the Most High, dislikes.

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

.....

Saudi King Abdul Azeez (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said:

Indeed, the progress and advancement of the Muslims is among those affairs we (pursue). We call to it by the will of Allaah; (but) there cannot be advancement for the Muslims without a return to their religion, adherence to their sound creed and holding onto the Rope of Allaah [i.e. the Qur’aan and the Sunnah]. The path towards this is clear and facilitated for the one who wants to follow it, and that is to single out Allaah in worship – to be free from shirk and bidah- and act on that which the religion has commanded us, for indeed there is no benefit in speech if not [accompanied] by action.

Allaah Forgives All Sins

 Allaah Forgives All Sins

On the authority of 'Abdullaah b. 'Abbas (radiallaahu'anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:

 قال اللهُ تعالى: مَنْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي ذو قدرةٍ على مغفرةِ الذنوبِ غفرتُ لَهُ ولا أُبالِي، مالم يشرِكْ بي شيئًا.

Allaah, the Most High, says:

"Whoever knows that I have the power to forgive all sins, I will forgive him and I shall not care, as long as he does not associate any partners with me."

An Irrevocable Decree By Allāh

An Irrevocable Decree By Allāh

Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله mentioned:

Allāh has decreed  a decree  that cannot be rejected or repelled, that whoever loves anything asides Him will be  inevitably punished by it, and that whoever fears other than Him will be overpowered by it, and that whoever is preoccupied with other than Him will be befallen by misfortune, and that whoever  prefers something over Him will not be blessed in it, and that whoever pleases other than Him by earning His anger, He (Allāh) will inevitably make him (the one who was pleased) angry at him.

Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and perform the Ṣalāh. Verily, the Ṣalāh prevents from Al-Faḥshā’ (immoral sins) and Al-Munkar (evil deeds) and the remembering (praising) of Allāh is greater indeed. And Allāh knows what you do. (Surah Al-Ankabut 29. verse 45)

.....

Abu  Al-ʿĀliyah commented on the Āyah:

إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ ۗ

(Verily, the alāh prevents from immoral sins and evil wicked deeds)

Prayer has three attributes, and any prayer that contains none of these attributes is not truly prayer:

Being done purely and sincerely for Allāh alone (Ikhlāṣ), fear of Allāh and remembrance of Allāh. Ikhlā makes a person do good deeds, fear prevents him from doing evil deeds, and the remembrance of Allāh is the Qur’ān which contains commands and prohibitions.[1]

[1] Ibn Abi ātim recorded this narration under this Āyah.

It is obligatory to obey the Book of Allāh, the Sunnah of His Messenger, the Rightly-Guided Khalīfahs and the Imāms when they command us to obey Allāh.

51The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allāh and His Messenger, to judge between them , is that they say: “We hear and we obey”. And such are the successful.

52. And whosoever obeys Allāh and His Messenger, fears Allāh, and has Taqwā of Him, such are the successful

... Allātells us about the attributes of the believers who respond to Allāh and His Messenger and who seek no other way apart from the Book of Allāh  and the Sunnah of His Messenger

Allāh says:

The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allāh and His Messenger, to judge between them , is that they say: “We hear and we obey”.

Meaning, to hear  to obey. Allāh describes them as having  attained success, which is achieving what one wants and being saved from what one fears. So Allāh says:

And such are the successful

Concerning the Āyah:

they say: “We hear and we obey”.

Qatādah said: “We were told  that when  ‘Ubādah bin As-Sāmit, who had been present  at Al-‘Aqabah and at Badr, and was one of the leaders of the Anār, was dying, he said to his nephew Junādah bin Abi Umayyah:  ‘Shall I not tell you what you must do and what is your due?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘You have to listen and obey when times are easy and when they are hard, when you feel energetic and when you do not want to, and when you feel selfish. You have to train your tongue  to speak the truth. Do not go against those who are in authority, unless they openly command you to commit acts of disobedience to Allāh. Whenever you are commanded to do something that goes against the Book of Allāh, then follow the Book of Allāh. “(1)*

Qatādah said: We were told that Abu Ad-Dardā’ said, “There is no Islām except through obedience to Allāh, and no goodness except in Jamā’ah. Sincerity is to Allāh and His Messenger , and to the Khalīfah and all the believers.” He said: “And we were told that ‘Umar bin Al-Khaṭṭab, may Allāh be pleased with him, used to say; ‘The bonds of Islām are Lā ilāha illallāh, establishing prayer, paying Zakāh and obeying those whom Allāh has given authority over the affairs of the Muslims.’” This was recorded by Ibn Abi ātim.(2)*...

And whosoever obeys Allāh and His Messenger,

in what he is commanded with, and avoid  what he is forbidden,

fears Allāh, means, for his past sins,

And has Taqwā of Him, regarding sins he may commit in the future.

Such are the successful. means, those  who will attain all goodness  and be saved  from all evil in this world and the Hereafter.
