Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ said:
“If you desire that Allāh and His
Messenger love you then adhere to three traits:
1. Being truthful in speech.
2. Fulfilling trusts.
3. Being a good neighbour.

Abū Hurairah رضي الله عنه reported: I
heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ saying, “Say, if there were a
river at the door of one of you in which he takes a bath five times a day, would
any soiling remain on him?” They replied, “No soiling would left on him.” He ﷺ said, “That
is the five (obligatory) Salāt (prayers). Allāh
obliterates all sins as a result of performing them.” [Al-Bukhārī and Muslim]
Commentary: This Hadīth tell us about the
merit and benefits of the performance of the prescribed five daily Salāt, performing them will wash off one’s sins, but
this is true of only such Salāt
which is performed in accordance with Sunnah, i.e., punctually in exactly the
manner showed by the Prophet ﷺ, and not of that which is offered at will in one’s own way.

رَبِّ اغْفِرْليِ
وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
“O
my Lord forgive me and accept my repentance indeed You are the One who forgives
and most merciful.”

It is reported in the two saheehs from the hadeeth
of Abu Hurairah (radiyallāhu ʿanhu) who said that Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) said:
إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ
لاَ يُلْقِي لَهَا بَالاً يَرْفَعُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَاتٍ وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ
لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللَّهِ لاَ يُلْقِي لَهَا بَالاً
يَهْوِي بِهَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ
“A slave of Allah may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him in degrees—and a slave of Allah may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire.”

مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى
اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ ” . يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ . قَالُوا يَا
رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ” وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ
فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ
مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَىْءٍ
“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved
to Allah than these ten,” meaning the ten of Dhul-Hijjah. They said: “O
Messenger of Allah, not even Jihād in Allah’s cause?” He replied: “Not
even Jihād in Allah’s cause, except for the man who left out with life and his
wealth and does not return back.” (Abu Dawud, no. 2438 and
graded saheeh by Al-Albāni)

369. Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه reported:
A bedouin came to Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said to him, “When will be the Hour (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)?” He (the Prophet ﷺ) said, “What preparation have you made for it?” He said, “Only the love of Allāh and His Messenger.”Then Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “You will be with those whom you love.”[Al-Bukhāri and Muslim]
The
narration in Muslim is: The man replied: “I have made no significant
preparation with regard to Salāh (prayer), Saūm (fasting) and Sadaqah (charity) but I love Allāh and His Messenger.”
Commentary: The love of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ for Allāh and His Prophet ﷺ was not verbal only, as is the case of present-day Muslims. Their love was full of obedience and submission to Allāh in the true sense. This is what the Bedouin mentioned in this Hadīth really meant when he said that he had not amassed a large treasure by way of Salāt, Saūm (fasts) and Sadaqah for presentation on the Day of Resurrection. What he meant by them was voluntary acts and not the obligations. The reason being that the obligatory acts like Salāt , Saūm and Zakāt are incumbent on every Muslim and no one can claim to be a true believer and lover of Allāh and His Prophet ﷺ who ignores them. Any Muslim who entertains true love of Allāh and His Prophet ﷺ, makes it evident in his practical life by his strict performance of the duties and obligations enjoined by Allāh and demonstrated by His Prophet ﷺ through his Sunnah. Even if such a person does not have to his credit a large amount of voluntary acts, he will be successful by Allāh. This is the real import of this Hadīth, otherwise a Muslim’s claim for the love of Allāh and His Prophet ﷺ will be void if he does not fulfill his religious obligations. In fact, without the fulfillment of religious obligations, his claim will be nothing short of self-deception. His claim for the love of Allāh and His Prophet ﷺ, which is not supported by his actions will carry no weight before Allāh.This is what the following Āyah of the Noble Qur’ān enjoins: “Say (O Muhammad ﷺ to mankind:) ‘If you (really) love Allāh then follow me (i.e., accept Islāmic Tauhid, follow the Qur’ān and the Sunnah), Allāh will love you and forgive your sins. And Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’” (3:31)

ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān raḍiallāhu ʿanh said: The Messenger of Allāh ṣāllallāhu ʿālayhi wa sallam stated: “There is no servant who says each day in the morning and evening:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لاَ يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ
وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاءِ، وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ العَلِيمُ
In the Name of Allāh, in Whose Name nothing can harm on the earth or in the
heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
3 times, except that he will not
be afflicted with any harm.”2
Shaykh ‘Abd al-Razzāq al-‘Abbād ḥafthahullāh stated:
This is one of the tremendous
supplications that a Muslim should regularly mention every morning and evening
so that he may be protected – by the permission of Allāh – from being afflicted
with unexpected harm, tragedy, or something similar.3

اللهِ الَّذِي لاَ يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاءِ،

Bismillaahil-lathee laa yadhurru ma’asmihi
shay’un fil-ardhi wa laa fis-samaa’i wa Huwas-Samee’ul-‘Aleem.

Fifth hadeeth
Ḥuṣain Ibn Miḥsan who said my paternal aunt said:
“I had a situation so I went to the Messenger of Allāh. So he said: You there; are you married? I responded: Yes. He then
enquired: How do you treat your husband? I said: I do not fall short except in
what I have no capability to do. He said: Look how you treat him because he is
your paradise and your fire.”

Abu Hurayrah – may Allah be pleased with him –
narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said:
The
Shaytaan ties three knots on the back of your neck when you sleep. For every
knot, its intent is for you to have a long, slumber-some night, and it is said, ‘Sleep
well’.
So, if he
[or she] wakes up and mentions Allah, one knot is undone. When he [or she]
makes wudhoo, a second knot is undone. When he [or she] prays, all the knots
are undone, thus he [or she] enters into the morning energetic and in a
wonderful mood. Otherwise, he [or she] enters the morning in a foul mood and
lethargic.

The Prophet said:
Whoever wishes to advise the one with authority, he should not do
so openly; rather he should take him by the hand and take him into seclusion;
if he accepts from him, then he has achieved his goal, and if not, then he has
fulfilled his obligation.

Dawūd (no. 1426) also reported from ‘Ali bin Abi Tālib (radiyallāhu ‘anhu) that
Allah’s Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) used to recite at the end of his
Witr:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي
أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ
مِنْكَ لاَ أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ
“O
Allah, I seek refuge in your good-pleasure from your anger, and in your
forgiveness from your punishment and I seek refuge in your mercy from your
wrath. I cannot reckon the praise due to you. You are as you have praised
yourself.”

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu biridhaaka min
sakhatika, wa bimu’aafaatika min ‘uqoobatika, wa ‘a’oothu bika minka,
laa ‘uhsee thanaa’an ‘alayka, ‘Anta kamaa ‘athnayta ‘alaa nafsika.
“O Allah, I seek refuge in your good-pleasure from your anger, and in your forgiveness from your punishment and I seek refuge in your mercy from your wrath. I cannot reckon the praise due to you. You are as you have praised yourself.”

Allaah’s
Messenger ﷺ said:
“…Then he (the one who had memorized the Quraan and acted upon it) will be given the
dominion in his right hand and eternity in his left, and a crown of honour will
be placed upon his head, and his parents will be clothed with garments that
which is better than this world and what is in it. They will say: “O Lord! This
is for us, (how did we attain it)?” It will be said to them: “BECAUSE YOU
TAUGHT YOUR CHILD THE QUR’AAN.”

On the authority of Abū Mūsa al-Ash’ari (رضي الله عنه) who quoted Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying,
إِن الله يبْسُطُ يدهُ بِاللَّيْلِ ليتُوب
مُسيءُ النَّهَارِ، وَيبْسُطُ يَدهُ بالنَّهَارِ ليَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ اللَّيْلِ حتَّى
تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِن مغْرِبِها
رواه مسلم: ٢٧٥٩
Allāh
stretches out His Hand during the night, so that people may repent for their
shortcomings committed during the day. He also stretches out His Hand during
the day, so that the sinners may repent for the sins committed during the
night. Until the sun rises in the west(1). (Muslim: 2759).

rising of the sun in the west is a major portent of the Day of
