From The Signs of Idiocy

Ibn ibbān (رحمه الله) said:
From the greatest signs of an idiot’s stupidity is his tongue. Because his mind is on the tip of his tongue, he says whatever crosses his mind.

Knowledge: The Key To Happiness by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah رحمه الله

Reminders & Quotes

KNOWLEDGE: The Key to Happiness

THE FOUNDATION OF ALL KNOWLEDGE

 Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah said:

Knowledge of Allāh is the foundation  of all knowledge, and the foundation of the servant’s knowledge of that which brings  him benefit in his worldly life and next life. And  (the servant’s) ignorance of Him (i.e. Allāh) necessitates ignorance of himself, what completes  his self , that which purifies it, and that  with which it  succeeds. So knowledge (of Allāh) is happiness for the servant, and being ignorance of (Allāh) is the source of his unhappiness.

A Household’s Connection With The Qur’ān - ‘Allāmah Shaykh Ibn Bāz (رحمه الله)

A Household’s Connection With The Qur’ān

The ‘Allāmah Shaykh Ibn Bāz (رحمه الله) said:

The more the people of a household are engaged in reading the Qur’ān, revising aādith, remembering Allāh, saying subān Allāh, and lā Ilāha ill-Allāh the more protected they are from the shayāīn and the further they are from them.

And the more a house is filled with heedlessness and its means such as music, distractive play, and hearsay, the more shayāīn that promote falsehood will be present.

Reminders & Quotes: What Is Beneficial Knowledge - Ibn Rajab

Remiders and Quotes
What Is Beneficial Knowledge?

Ibn Rajab ( (رحمه اللهsaid: This knowledge (i.e. of the  religion) leads to two things:

The first is knowing Allāh and what He deserves regarding the Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes and Magnificent Actions; and that necessitates revering Him, exalting Him, fearing Him, being in awe of Him, loving Him, having hope in Him, depending on Him, being pleased with His decree and being patient  upon His tests.

The second is knowledge of that which He loves and is pleased  with and what He hates and what makes Him angry, from beliefs, both apparent and hidden actions and statements. Therefore this (knowledge) obligates the one  who knows it to rush towards that which Allāh loves and is pleased with, and (compels him to rush to) staying away from what He hates and makes Him angry.

So if knowledge produces this for the one who possesses it, then it is beneficial knowledge.
