What Du’a Combines your Worldly Life & Akhirah?

What Du’ā Combines your Worldly Life & Ākhirah?

A man came to the Prophet and said,

“O Messenger of Allāh , what do I say when I supplicate to my Lord?”

He said, “Say:

اللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْلِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَعافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي

‘O Allāh forgive me, have mercy upon me, grant me well-being and grant me sustenance.’

he gathered his fingers except  his thumb (and said), ‘for indeed these 4 combine for you, your Dunyā and your Hereafter.’”

Saī Muslim 2697.

Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Aziz bn Bāz رحمه الله said:

Allāh has commanded His slaves to fear Him. And as a reward, He promised them the easing of their affairs, relief from afflictions, facilitation of sustenance, forgiveness of sins, and the attainment of Paradise.

It is reported that Al-Fudayl bin Ayyad [Allah have mercy on him] said,

‘If I had one supplication that was going to be answered I would make it for the ruler (imam), for the wellbeing and righteousness of the imam means wellbeing for the land and its people.’

Fitnah (trial and tribulation) does not befall except by abandoning that which has been commanded by Allāh...

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رَحِمَهُ اللهُ said:

“And fitnah (trial and tribulation) does not befall except by abandoning that which has been commanded by Allāh. For verily, He the Sublime has commanded truth and He has commanded patience. Therefore, trial and tribulation befall either by abandoning the truth or by abandoning patience.

Praying for the Muslim Ruler for their success, guidance and for them to be aided by Allah is a Sunnah

 ....

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said, “If you see something from the ruler that is in opposition to (the Qur’an and Sunnah), then supplicate to Allaah for him because their rectification is a means of rectification for the Muslim nation; but when we say, ‘O Allaah! Rectify the rulers and guide them’, we hear some of the foolish people saying, ‘ O Allaah! Do not rectify them’. Glorified be Allaah, The Most Great! If Allaah does not rectify them, then that would be more evil for you, so supplicate for them to be guided and become righteous, and Allaah is able to do everything.’”

And let those who oppose the Messenger’s (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah – legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements) (among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant) should befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them.

Obligation of Obedience to the Ruler even if they are sinful

Ibn Abī ‘Āsim reported in As-Sunnah (2/508) from ‘Adiyy Ibn Hātim (may Allah be pleased with him) that we said:

“O Messenger of Allah, we do not ask you regarding obedience to the ruler who has taqwā (who is pious and who fears Allah), and is good and rectifies. Rather, we are asking about the ruler who does such-and-such and such-and-such?” And he mentioned their evil traits. So the Prophet () answered: “Fear Allah! Listen to the ruler and obey him.”(Also reported by At-Tabarāni in Al-Kabīr, 17/101 , and authenticated by Al-Albāni in Dhilāl Al-Jannah)

The Definition of Tawfīq

The Meaning of Tawfīq:

Ibn al Qayyim رَحِمَهُ الله  said in explaining Manāzil al-Sā’irīn (i.e. Madārij al-Sālikīn)

Tawfīq is that Allah, from Himself, wants to  do with the slave that which brings about the rectitude of the slave by enabling him to do what pleases Him, choosing, loving, and preferring that over anything else; while causing him to hate what He is  displeased with or dislikes. This is purely the action of Allah and the slave is its recipient.”

Al Baghawi رَحِمَهُ الله  said,

Tawfīq from Allah is creating one’s ability  to obey Him and  easing the path of good, its opposite is khidhlān (being forsaken).”

What is Aqeeqah For The Newly Born?

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said:

One of the rights of the child upon his father is that he should slaughter a sacrifice for him.He should slaughter for the Aqeeqah on his behalf as an act of worship and thanks-giving to Allaah (The Most High). There is seeking nearness to Allaah and being thankful to Him in this (sacrifice) and there is good in it for the newly born because goodness is found in acts of worship. Therefore, he slaughters two sheep for the boy and one for the girl. This is an established Sunnah and there is goodness in it for the newly born. He (sallal-laahu –alayhi –wasallam) said: Every newly born is in pledge for his/her aqeeqah. (Reported by Abu Daawood no. 2831)

The sacrificial slaughter, shaving of the head and naming the child are to be done on the seventh day, and these are from the means of bringing about goodness for the new born. The expense for this is to be undertaken by the father.

Keeping photographs for memory's sake

Shaikh Ibn ‘Uthaimīn:

What is the intent of taking photos of people?

If the aim is to keep them as memories – then for that purpose it is harām. And hanging them on walls is harām – and the Angels do not enter a home that has images.

The Gravity and Severity of Shirk (i.e. associating partners with Allah in worship)

Verily, Allâh forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allâh (in worship), he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (Sûrah 4. An-Nisâ, ayah 48)

Ignorance is a Destructive Disease

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله, he said:

Ignorance is a destructive disease and it’s cure is two things: The text from the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

Three Things Which Lead To….

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

Three things lead to destruction, and three things lead to salvation, three things lead to the expiation of sins and three things which raise you in levels:

As for the three things that lead to destruction they are:

1. Stinginess which is obeyed.

2. (Sinful) desires which are followed.

3. And a person being amazed with himself (self admiration).

As for the three things which lead to salvation they are:

1. Being just when angry or pleased.

2. Being moderate when in poverty or in richness.

3. And having fear of Allaah in secret and in open.

And as for the things that lead to the sins being expiated they are:

1. To wait for the next prayer after having prayed the previous prayer.

2. Competing wudhoo during severe cold.

3. To walk to the congregational prayer.

And as for the things that will raise you in levels they are:

1. To feed the people.

2. To spread the greeting of salam.

3. And to pray at night whilst the people are asleep.
