The Prophet (sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Every innovation is a misguidance and every misguidance is in the Hell-Fire.” -

Ibn Uthaymēn said:

“If a person was sincere in his actions but  comes with an innovation not legislated by the  Messenger  (peace and blessings be upon him) his action  is not accepted even though he is sincere, even if he is weeping due to humbleness, this will not benefit him. Because the Prophet described innovation as a misguidance.

Having the best of manners

Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله mentioned,

Good manners with Allāh is that you accept His commands with joy, happiness and delight, whether they are commands or prohibitions. So do not feel uneasy or feel a tightness in your chest regarding them, because the one who accepts the commands of Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic with content and acceptance will carry them out, as he is happy to do them and this is good manners with Allāh سبحانه و تعالى.

Say These at the Right Time and Be Forgiven

In Al-Nasāʾī’s narration from Abū Hurairah alone, [who attributed it to Prophet and said]:

Whoever says:1

-he counted them as five on his fingers-and then said: “Whoever says them during a day or during a night or in a month and then dies on that day or that night or that month, will have his sins forgiven.”

Paradise will not be attained with wishful thinking...

So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as partner in the worship of his Lord.[18:110]

Shaykh Saalih Al Fawzaan حَفِظَهُ الله وَرُعَاه said:

This (ayah) is a proof that just hope (in meeting Allaah and attaining paradise) alone is not sufficient, it is a must that there is (righteous) action. As for you hoping in Allaah however do not accompany it with (righteous ) deeds then you have negated the reason (that will help you attain your meeting with Allaah).”

Household chores are from the Sunnah

Household chores are from the Sunnah

The learned scholar, Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen –Rahmatullaah alayhi- said:

When a person is at home then it is from the Sunnah, that for example he makes his own tea, cooks if he knows how to and washes up that which needs washing, all of this is from the Sunnah.

If you do this then you get the reward of following the Sunnah, with imitating the Messenger –alayhi as-Salat wa sallam- and in humbling yourself for Allaah - the Mighty and Majestic.

This also brings about love between you and your wife. When your family sense that you help them in their chores they will love you and your value to them will increase, therefore, this will end up being a great benefit.
