What should I do on the night of Laylatul Qadr?
1. Make the du’aa that
the Prophet ﷺ taught ‘Aaishah رضي الله عنها
((اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ
فَاعْفُ عَنِّي))
“O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, You love to pardon, so
pardon me.”
2. Read Qur’aan (the
Prophet ﷺused
to study with Jibreel).
3. Pray Taraweeh or
night prayer (if you stand with the imam till
he finishes, then you have the reward of standing in prayer all night).
4. Engage in dhikr –
remembrance of Allaah.
5. Make general du’aa
for yourself, family, friends, Muslim Ummah, Muslim leaders and scholars etc.
If a Muslim does not ask Allaah or make du’aa He becomes angry.
6. Seek forgiveness
for your sins and repent from them
(istighfaar and tawbah). Allaah frees people
from the Fire every night of Ramadhaan.
7. Charity –Sadaqah
(Prophet ﷺ was most generous in Ramadhaan). This is the night that Allaah decrees your provisions for the whole year. Use your
wealth that Allaah blessed you with for good.
8. All types of good
deeds.
9. Seclude yourself
in the masjid – ‘itikaaf (can be even one hour, one night 10 days).
N.B The night
(islamically) start at sunset, Maghrib time, and finishes at dawn, Fajr time.

Allāh’s
Messenger ﷺ
said:
“Laylat Al-Qadar is
the night of the twenty-seventh or the twenty-ninth. The angels on that night
upon the earth are more numerous than stones.”

ibadaah should she perform?

out the night of power then its allowed for her to read Qur’ān and she should tried read much Qur’ān & make much supplication to Allāh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
and to remember Allāh and to seek forgiveness and to repent to Allāh, to call
upon Allāh that He rectifies her situation that He improve her situation and
improves the situation of her husband and her children, the daughters and the
sons she make much dhikr of Allāh Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala remembered
Him, reading the Qur’ān and turning to
repentance and seeking forgiveness and supplication all of that until the Sahūr…

There are 2 Great Wisdoms In Keeping the Exact Date of
Laylatul-Qadr Unknown to us:
1 • It makes clear those who strive every night (of the 10) in
search of it hoping they may find it and coincide (their worship and obedience)
with it; whereas if it was known to be a specific night, then the people would
not strive except on that one specific known night.
2 • The people increase in their righteous actions (in search of
it) seeking closeness to their Lord in order that they may benefit themselves
via it.

Seeking out Laylat-ul-Qadr and the way to spend this night - Permanent Committee
Q:
How to spend Laylat-ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree in worship;is it
by offering Salat (Prayer), reciting the Qur’an reading the Sirah (the Prophet’s
biography) listening to lectures and lessons, or celebrating it in the Masjid
(Mosque)?
(Part
no. 10; Page no. 414)
A: First: The
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to be exceptionally diligent
in worship during the last ten days of Ramadan, more so than at any other
time; praying, reciting the Qur’an and supplicating. It was reported by Al-Bukhari
and Muslim on the authority of ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased upon her)
that: ”When the last ten (nights of Ramadan) began, the Messenger of Allah
(peace be upon him) would stay up the night, wake his family (for prayer) and
tighten his Izar (i.e. exert himself in worship and abstain from
conjugal intercourse).” Ahmad and Muslim reported: ”The Messenger of Allah (peace
be upon him) used to strive hard in worship during the last ten days of
Ramadan as never did at any other time.”
Second: The
Prophet (peace be upon him) exhorted to stay up and pray Qiyam (optional Night
Prayer) on laylat-ul-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward. It was
narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that
the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ”Anyone who spends laylat-ul-Qadr in
Qiyam, out of Iman (Faith) and Ihtisab (confident anticipation of Allah’s
Reward), will have their past sins forgiven.” [Related by the Group of Hadith
Compilers except Ibn Majah] This Hadith indicates that it is prescribed to
stay up and spend in this night in Qiyam.
Third: One
of the best Du’a’s (supplication) to be said on Laylat-ul-Qadr is that which
the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught to ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased
with her). It was reported by Al-Tirmidhy who ranked the Hadith as Sahih
(authentic), that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: ”I said,’O
Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is Laylat-ul-Qadr, what should I say on
that night?” ’Say: 'Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhib-ul-‘afwa fa’ffu anny [O
Allah! You are All-Forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.

Fourth: With
regard to specifying which night of Ramadan is Laylat-ul-Qadr, this requires
specific evidence, however the odd numbered nights during the last ten
nights are more likely than others. The night of of the twenty-seventh is the
most likely to be Laylat-ul-Qadr based upon the Hadiths reported in this regard.
Fifth: With
regard to Bid’ahs (innovation in religion), they are not permissible during
Ramadan or at other time. It was authentically reported that the Messenger
of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: ”Anyone who performs an action which is not
in accordance with this matter of ours (Islam) will have it
rejected.” According to another narration:” Anyone who introduces anything into
this matter of ours (Islam) which is not of it will have it rejected.”
We
know of no basis for the celebrations held during some nights of
Ramadan. Truly, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace be
upon him) and the worst of matters are those which are newly-invented in the
religion.
May
Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his
family, and Companions!

Revelation of the Qur'an on Laylatul-Qadr: Fatwas of Permanent Committee
Q: Allah
(Glorified and Exalted be He) says: {Verily, We have sent it (this Qur’aan) down
in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree}. ”The Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us
that Laylat-ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree) is sought during the last ten days of
Ramadan,when he said: ”Look for it (Laylat-ul-Qadr) during the last ten
(nights).” Taking this into account ,why do some people say
that the Qur’an was revealed on the 17th night of Ramadan?

A: The
Qur’an as a whole was sent down to Bayt Al-‘Izzah (the House of Glory) in
the lowest heaven during Laylat-ul-Qadr in Ramadan. Allah (Exalted be He)
says: { The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’aan, a guidance
for mankind} He (Exalted be He) also says: {Verily, We have sent it (this
Qur’aan) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)}. Then the Qur’an was revealed to
the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a portions according to the situations
and conditions throughout twenty-three years. It is related by Imam
Ahmad, according to his Sanad (chain of narrators), on the authority of
Wathilal ibn Al-Asqa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace
be upon him) said: {Allah sent down the scriptures of Ibrahim on the first
night of Ramadan, the Tawrah (Torah) on the sixth night, the Injil (Gospel) on
the thirteenth night, and the Qur’an on the twenty-fourth night.} It is also
related by Al-Bukhari on the authority of Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be
pleased with him and his father) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be
upon him) said: ”Look for it (Laylat ul-Qadr) during the last ten (nights); on
the night when nine, seven or five nights remain out of the last ten
nights (i.e. 21, 23, 25, respectively.)” In addition, it is related in the Sahih
(authentic) Book of Hadiths by Muslim it was revealed on the 27th night
of Ramadan. Some opinions hold that Laylat -ul Qadr is the 17th night
of Ramadan, since it was the day when the early Muslims fought the Battle of
Badr. It is related by Abu Dawud in his Sunan, on the authority of Ibn Mas’ud
(may Allah be pleased with him),that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)
saids, {Look for it (Laylat –ul Qadr) on the 17th night of
Ramadan}. However, this Hadith is debatable because of Sanads
contains Hakim ibn Sayf. The soundest opinion is that Laylat –ul
Qadr is sought during the last ten nights of Ramadan and preferably the odd
ones.
