Loving Allaah and His Messenger Is From The Greatest Obligations of Eemaan
Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said: Love (Mahabbah) of Allaah, rather love of Allaah and His
Messenger is from the greatest obligations of eeman its greatest foundations,
and its loftiest principles. Rather, it is the foundation of every action from
the actions of eemaan and deen, just as belief (tasdeeq) in Him is the
foundation of every statement from the statements of eemaan. And every motion
(movement, action) in existence emanates from mahabbah (love) , either from a
praiseworthy love, or a blameworthy love…Hence, all the actions of eeman and
deen do not arise except out of praiseworthy love, and the foundation of
praiseworthy love is love of Allaah, the Sublime and Exalted.
