Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah)
said:
Celebrating Valentine’s Day is impermissible due to [several] reasons:
Firstly: It is an innovated Eed [holiday]. It has no
basis in the Sharee’ah.
Secondly: It calls to passion and infatuation.
Thirdly: It is a means of preoccupying the heart with
the likes these insignificant affairs and it is in opposition to the guidance
of the Salafus Saaleh [The Pious Predecessors].
Therefore, it is impermissible to initiate anything on
this day [i.e. specifically on Valentine’s Day] related to [celebration],
whether it is foodstuffs, drinks, clothing, and exchanging gifts or other than
these [actions]. It is obligated on a Muslim to nobly [adhere to his (or her)]
religion and he [or she] should not be one who goes with the flow – following everyone
who calls to something.

The eclipse is not a punishment; rather

Household
chores are from the Sunnah
The learned scholar, Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen –Rahmatullaah alayhi-
said:
“When a person is at home then it is from the Sunnah, that
for example he makes his own tea, cooks if he knows how to and washes up that
which needs washing, all of this is from the Sunnah.
If you do this then you get the reward of following the
Sunnah, with imitating the Messenger –alayhi as-Salat wa sallam- and in
humbling yourself for Allaah - the Mighty and Majestic.
This also brings about love between you and your wife. When your family sense that you help them in their chores they will love you and your value to them will increase, therefore, this will end up being a great benefit.”

In one Ḥadīth, the Prophet صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ
وَسَلَّمَ stated:
“There are two types of people from the dwellers of
Hell that I have not yet seen: Men with whips
like the tails of cattle with which they strike the people…*
The renowned scholar, Shaykh Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ ‘Uthaymīn
(d. 1421/2001) commented on this Ḥadīth saying:
“[These are] the oppressive police officers who beat
the people without justification. They are from the dwellers of Hell because whoever
aids an oppressor shall receive a portion of their sin that he deserves.”*

In the Name of Allaah,the Most Merciful,The Bestower of Mercy
Question to Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen: May Allaah have mercy upon a person who knows his limitations and worth – [Does this (saying) have an (established) source and has it been transmitted in a hadeeth?]
Answer: I do not know of an (established) source for it; however its meaning is correct. (That is) because when a person knows his (limitations and worth), he will be humble in the presence of his Lord. He will worship Allaah and will know that he is not free from being in need of Allaah in the twinkling of an eye. If he knows himself, he will know his status amongst the people and this knowledge will (prevent) him from being haughty towards them – because the haughtiness is from the major sins and looking down on the people is from the forbidden affairs. That is why when the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) warned against haughtiness (or pride), they (i.e. the people) said:
”Everyone of us loves that his clothes and shoes are nice;” so he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”Indeed Allaah is beautiful and He loves beauty; haughtiness (or pride) is to reject the truth and look down on the people.”
So when a person knows his (limitations and worth), he will know his rank amongst the people. He will place himself in his (rightful) place; humble himself in the presence of his Lord and in the presence of Allaah’s creation. And whoever humbles himself to Allaah, Allaah will raise him.

Six Mighty Wisdoms Behind Why
We Do Not Hear the Dead in Their Graves
Shaykh Ibn al-Uthaymeen
(rahimahullaah) said, in his explanation of Al-Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah 2/118-119:
And this is for (numerous)
mighty wisdoms, from them:
[1] What is indicated by the
Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) in his saying, “Were it not that you
would not have buried (your dead) I would have invoked Allaah to let you hear
(the cries) of the punishment of the grave.”
[2] Concealing it is a veil
(covering) for the deceased.
[3] That it does not cause the
deceased’s family to be disturbed.
[4] Not embarrassing (shaming)
of his family, since the people will say “This is your son”, “This is your father”,This
is your brother” and what is like this.
[5] That we may perish (as a
result) because it is not a light type of screaming, it is a screaming that
will cause our hearts to be plucked out , a person will die or may fall
unconscious (out of fear, terror).
[6] If the people heard the
cries of the deceased being punished, then faith in the punishment of the grave
would be reduced to faith through direct observation and not faith in the
unseen, and therefore the purposeful benefit of testing people would be lost,
because the people would obviously believe in what they witness. However, when
it is hidden from them and they do not know of it except through relayed
information (khabar), then it becomes from faith in the unseen.

Shaykh

“These are two attributes of the people of Hell.
Transgression – i.e., overstepping the boundary – and preferring the worldly
life than the hereafter by giving it
precedence over the hereafter. And they [i.e., these two attributes] are
inseparable. Whoever transgresses has preferred the worldly life and vice
versa.”
