How to be the Wealthiest, Devout and most Pious of Men

Ibn Masūd (رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنهُ) said:

Be pleased with what Allah has allotted for you and you will be the wealthiest of men. Fulfill what Allah has obligated upon you and you will be the most devout of men. Refrain from what Allah has made unlawful upon you and you will be the most pious of men.

Difficulty and Ease In Memorizing and Acting Upon The Qur’ān

Abdullāh Ibn Masūd (رضي الله عنه) said: It is difficult for us to memorise the words of the Qurān and easy for us to act upon them. But those after us, it will be easy for them to memorise the Qurān and difficult for them to act upon it.

The Greatest Calamity

Ibn Qayyim

The greatest calamity is the calamity of the fire [Hellfire], Nothing repels it except the love of Allaah alone and adhering to His Messenger

“There is not a servant who fasts a day in the way of Allah (sincerely), except that..."

The Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said:

There is not a servant who fasts a day in the way of Allah (sincerely), except that Allah removes his face from the Fire by the distance of 70 years (due to that).

Shaykh al-‘Uthaymīn on being amazed with one’s own actions

@binothaimeen

Having good thoughts of Allāh is one of the causes of supplications being responded to. However, a person should not be amazed with his own actions and say about himself: I did this, I did that.He should not say this, because whatever action he does is for himself, and Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, is not in need of him! Allāh, the Most High, says: They consider it a favor to you that they have embraced Islam. Say: Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Nay, but Allāh has conferred favor upon you, that He has guided you to the Faith, if you indeed are truthful.[Sūrah al-ujurāt (49): 17]

In our time, we have been afflicted with the trial of seeking rank, status, position, and fame. Honour is in Islam.

@AbuIdrees / 15 Mar 2018, 2:42 PM

Umar ibn al-Khattāb رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ said:

Indeed, we were a lowly people, but  then Allāh (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) gave us honour through Islām. So, when we seek to gain honour from other than what Allāh has honoured, Allāh (عَزَّ وَجَلَّ) will humiliate us.

The Meaning of the Saved Sect - Shaykh Al- 'Uthaymeen

9:04 PM – 6 Dec 16

Shaykh Al-‘Uthaymeen

The Hadith (about the saved sect) clarifies the meaning (an-Nājiyah) Whomsoever is upon (the way) of the Prophet and his companions, he is safeguarded from innovation.

And the (statement) “All of them in the hellfire except one.” So it (the saved sect) is saved from the hellfire. So salvation here (means) salvation from innovation in this life  and from the hellfire in the hereafter.

The Greatness of saying Bismillaah!

28 April 2016, 5:19 PM / @Abuidrees

Sheikh al- ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله)

The statement of one who says, Bismillaah does not refer to just one of Allaahs names. Rather, it refers to all of the names of Allaah. This indicates to you the greatness of this basmalah in that you begin by seeking blessings and aid through every name amongst the Names of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic.

Ibn Umar would Shed tears! by Shaykh 'Arafaat al-Muhammady

إن تبدوا ما في أنفسكم أو تخفوه يحاسبكم به الله}}

Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, would not recite this verse except he would shed tears: And whether you disclose what is in your own-selves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it.

Do not Abandon the Scholars!!!

2/28/14, 4:13 PM

On the Authority of Abu Qilaabah who said: The Scholars are the example of the stars by way of which one is guided & [they are] signposts that are followed. If they [the scholars] become absent the people become confused & if they [the scholars] are abandoned [by the people] they [the people] become misguided.

The virtues of lā ilāha illā Allah, mentioned by Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān (حفظه الله)

THE STATUS OF LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH

1. The Muslims proclaim it in their athan and iqamah, and mention it in their sermons and lessons.

2. It is a testimony by which the heavens and the earth were established and the entire creation was fashioned.

3. Because of it, Allah sent His Messengers, revealed His Books, and prescribed His Laws.

4. Due to it, the scales were appointed, the records were put forth, and the marketplace for Paradise and the Fire was established.

5. Creation was divided into the believers and the disbelievers. It is the purpose for the creation, commandment, reward and punishment.

6. It is the Truth for which the creation was created.

7. The questioning and reckoning of man will be about this testimony and its rights; and upon it, reward and punishment will be allocated.

8. Because of it, the qiblah was placed, the religion founded, and the swords of jihad were unsheathed.

9. It is Allah’s Right upon all the servants. It is the Statement of Islam and the Key to Dar as-Salaam (the Abode of Peace).

10. The feet of the slave shall cease to move from before Allah until he is questioned concerning two affairs : “Who did you worship?” and “How did you respond to the Messengers?”

The response to the first question is by fulfilling: “Laa ilaaha illa Allah” in knowledge, affirmation, and action.

And the response to the second question is by fulfilling: “Muhammad rasool Allah” in knowledge, submission and obedience.

11. It is the Word that seperates kufr from Islam.

12. It is the Word of Taqwa and the Urwatul-Wuthqa (the strongest handhold of Faith).

13. Ibraaheem made it a Word remaining among his descendants so that they may return to it.

14. It is a statement that Allah bears witness to Himself, the Angels, and the people of knowledge among His creation. [3:18].

15. It is a Statement of Sincerity, a Declaration of Truth, a Call of Truth, and a Dissociation from Shirk. It is the Purpose of Creation. “And I have not created mankind or jinn except to worship Me.”51:56.

16. Ibn ‘Uyaynah said: Allah has not favored the servant with a greater blessing than the knowledge of Laa ilaha illa Allah. Laa Ilaha Illa Allah to the People of Paradise, is like a cold water is to the people on Earth.

From Shaykh Saalih al Fawzaan’s Treatise on Laa Ilaaha Illa Allah.
