Choose only true friends & righteous companions that will benefit you in this world and in the hereafter

Al-Shāfi’ī رحمه الله said:

There is not a person except that he has those who love him and those who hate him. If this is inevitable, then let the individual be with those who are obedient to Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic.

The importance of knowledge in fighting destructive ideas

.....

There is no doubt that knowledge is the key to all good and the means to fulfill the Ordinances of Allah and abstain from what He has forbidden. Actions come after having knowledge, for those whom Allah has granted success. Knowledge supports the determination to do good, because there is no Iman (faith), action, or striving except based on knowledge. Words and actions which are not based on knowledge are worthless and may incur bad consequences and great corruption.

From What Obligates Forgiveness

From What Obligates Forgiveness

From al-Miqdam bin Shuraih from his father, from his grandfather who said I said:

O Messenger of Allaah guide me to a deed which will enter me into Paradise.

The Messenger answered:

‘Indeed from those matters which obligate forgiveness is striving to say Salaam and good speech.’

The Right Source of Knowledge

Shaykh Abdul Salam bn Barjis Aal Abdil Karim – May Allah have mercy upon him – said:

“O students: If you want knowledge from its sources, then these are the senior scholars; those whose beards have become gray, and their bodies have shrunk and their strength  has waned in (seeking) knowledge and teaching.

Stick to them before you lose them and draw out (benefit from) their treasures before it disappears with them, because on a dark night, the full moon is missed.”

“Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, they will be with those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace and Favour…”

 -----

Allah, the Most High, said:

Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger―they will be with those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace and Favour from among the Prophets, the truthful who aided the truth, the martyrs and the righteous―how excellent these companions are! (An-Nisā’: 69)

Aishah (radiyallāhu anhā) said: A man came to the Prophet (salallāhu alaihi wasallam) and said: O Messenger of Allāh! You are more beloved to me than my wife, my wealth, my property and my son. I was in my home and thought about you and I was not able to be patient until I had come to you and saw you. And when I think of my death and your death, I know when you enter Jannah, you will be raised to the levels of the Prophets (alaihimus-salām). And if I enter Paradise, I fear that I will not see you. So the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) did not answer him with anything until Jibreel (‘alaihis-salām) descended with this Āyah: Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, they will be with those on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace and Favour…[1]

[1] Reported by At-Tabarāni Al-Mu’jam As-Sagheer 1/26; Al-Haythami said in Majma’ Az-Zawā’id (7/7) that all the narrators are narrators of Sahīh Al-Bukhāri except Abdullāh bin ‘Imrān and he is trustworthy (thiqah). And this narration is supported by the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbās cited in Majma’ Az-Zawā’id (7/7) and that has in its chain ‘Atā bin As-Sā’ib and he used to mix up narrations. Imām Muqbil Al-Wādi’i stated in his book, As-Saheeh Al-Musnad min Asbāb an-Nuzool (pp. 70-71): It has been reported by Abu Nu’aym in Al-Hilyah (4/240, 8/125) and Al-Wāhidi in Asbāb an-Nuzool with this chain of narration―and Ash-Shawkāni stated: Al-Maqdisi declared the narration to be hasan and it has support as mentioned in the Tafseer of Ibn Katheer (1/523) that strengthens its validity.

The Light of Intellect Recognises the True Favour of Allāh

 Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:

He who does not see the favour of Allāh upon him except in his food, drink and well-being of his body, then he has no share of intellect at all. For the favour of Allāh with Islām and Īmān, drawing His servant to turn towards Him, and finding pleasure in His obedience, this is the greatest of favours, and this is grasped through the light of intellect and [receiving] the guidance of success.

Whoever applies what he learns is granted knowledge of things that they do not know.

Some Salaf (righteous predecessors, may Allah be pleased with them), said,

Whoever applies what he learns is granted knowledge of things that they do not know.

Worship is to obey Allah and His Messenger صلى عليه وسلم by doing His Commands and refraining from the prohibitions humbly and submissively for the love of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Messenger.

The Status of Women in Islaam - Ibn Baz

A man came to Allaahs Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) and said:

O Messenger of Allaah! Who from amongst mankind warrants the best companionship from me? He replied: Your mother. The man asked: Then who? So he replied: Your mother. The man then asked: Then who? So the Prophet replied again: Your mother. The man then asked: Then who? So he replied: Then your father.

A few extract:

Shaikh Ibn Baz:

The status of the Muslim woman in Islaam is a very noble and lofty one, and her effect is very great in the life of every Muslim. Indeed, the Muslim woman is the initial teacher in the building of a righteous society, providing she follows the guidance from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam. Since adherence to the Quraan and the Sunnah distances every Muslim - male or female - from being misguided in any matter...

The Importance of Following the Sunnah – Al-‘Allaamah Rabee bin Haadee Al-Madkhali | by Salafi Nigeria

The Importance of Following the Sunnah

The Author [Al-Imaam Al-Barbahaari ] (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“So know that Islam is the Sunnah and the Sunnah is Islam and one of them is not established except with the other.”

Al-Allaamah Rabee’ ibn Haadee Al-Makhdali (may Allah preserve him said) [regarding the statement of the author]:

“So he [the author] – may Allaah have mercy upon him- draws the attention [of the reader] to the status of the Sunnah. For verily al-Islam is the call of all the Prophets. Allaah, the Most High, says:

{Verily the religion with Allaah is Islam} (aal-Imran:19)

And He The Most High says:

{And whoever seeks a religion other than Al Islam, it will not be accepted from him and in there hereafter, He will be from the losers} (aal-Imran : 85)

And the Sunnah is the Tareeqah [path] of the Prophet and his Manhaj [clear way] and his Akhlaaq [manners]. So whoever doesn’t actualize this Sunnah [i.e. intentionally and after proofs has been established against him] then he is a misguided innovator, he has not implemented Al Islam [i.e. with regards to that aspect of the Sunnah which he intentionally opposes]. And it might be that of those who oppose this intentionally are disbelievers or hypocrites. And we seek refuge with Allaah from that”.

Supplicate Frequently on the Day of 'Arafah

Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr (رحمه الله) [d. AH 463] stated:

The Supplication On The Day of ‘Arafah

From ‘Amr bin Shu’aib who said from his father who said from his grandfather that the Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said: ((The best supplication is the supplication of the day of ‘Arafah; and the best of that which I and the Prophets before me said is:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in qadeer.

The Hadeeth of Jibreel (Arkaan of Islam, Eemaan and Ihsaan)

The Hadeeth of Jibril

Abu Huraira reported:

One day the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) appeared before the public that a man came to him and said: Prophet of Allaah, (tell me) what is Eeman. Upon this he (the Prophet) replied: That you affirm your faith in Allaah, His angels, His Books, His meeting, His Messengers and that you affirm your faith in the Resurrection hereafter. He (again) said: Messenger of Allaah, (tell me) what does al-Islam signify. He (the Prophet) replied: Al-Islam signifies that you worship Allaah and do not associate anything with Him and you establish obligatory prayer and you pay the obligatory poor-rate (Zakat) and you observe the fast of Ramadan. He (the inquirer) again said: Messenger of Allaah, what does al-Ihsan imply? He (the Prophet) replied: That you worship Allaah as if you are seeing Him, and in case you fail to see Him, then observe prayer (with this idea in your mind) that (at least) He is seeing you. He (the inquirer ) again said: Messenger of Allaah, when would there be the hour (of Doom)? He (the Prophet) replied: The one who is asked about it is no better informed than the inquirer. I, however, narrate some of its signs (and these are): when the slave-girl will give birth to he master, when the naked, barefooted would become the chiefs of the people – these are some of the signs of (Doom). (Moreover) when the shepherds of the black (camels) would exult themselves in buildings, this is one of the signs of (Doom). (Doom) is one of the five (happenings wrapped in the unseen) which no one knows but Allaah. Then he (the Messenger of Allaah) recited (the verse):” Verily Allaah! with Him alone is the knowledge of the hour and He it is Who sends (down the rain) and knows that which is in the wombs and no person knows whatsoever he shall earn tomorrow, and a person knows not in whatsoever land he shall die. Verily Allaah is Knowing, Aware. He (the narrator, Abu Huraira) said: Then the person turned back and went away. The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Bring that man back to me. They (the Companions of the Prophet present there) went to bring him back, but they saw nothing there. Upon this the Messenger of Allaah remarked: he was Jibreel, who came to teach the people their religion.

Sound Aqeedah (Creed & Belief) is the main origin of Islam and the basis of the religion - If the `Aqeedah is not sound, all actions and words are void.

Allah (Exalted be He) says:

And whosoever disbelieves in Faith [i.e. in the Oneness of Allâh and in all the other Articles of Faith i.e. His (Allâh’s) Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work; and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.(Sûrah Al-Mâidah 5:5)

And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), as it was to those (Allâh’s Messengers) before you: If you join others in worship with Allâh, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers.” .(Sûrah Az-Zumar 39:65)

It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allâh, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allâh, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets….(Sûrah Al-Baqarah 2:177)

O you who believe! Believe in Allâh, and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and the Book (the Qur’ân) which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (him); and whosoever disbelieves in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away. (Sûrah An-Nîsâ4:136)

Know you not that Allâh knows all that is in the heaven and on the earth? Verily, it is (all) in the Book (Al-Lauh-al-Mahfûz). Verily that is easy for Allâh. (Sûrah Al-Hajj 22:70)

The Good word is Charity

The Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:

الكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ صَدَقَةٌ

(The good word is charity.)[1]

Shaikh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaimeen (rahimahullaah) mentioned:

Charity is not exclusive to wealth, rather everything that draws one close to Allaah is charity in the general sense, because carrying it is a proof of the truthfulness of its adherent in seeking the pleasures of Allaah, The Mighty and Majestic.[2]
