Don't be deluded or impressed by your deeds!

8. Is he, then, to whom the evil of his deeds is made  fair-seeming, so that he considers it as good (equal to one who is rightly guided)? Verily, Allâh sends astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So destroy not yourself (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) in sorrow for them.Truly, Allâh is All-Knower of what they do!

The Ulama they said:

A common  person  from the people of tawheed  who has understanding  will overcome a thousand of the scholars of mushrikin. Why? Because their proof is weak!

Eeman (Faith) Increases and Decreases

.....

According to Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah (adherents to the Sunnah and the Muslim mainstream), faith is shown through words and deeds and it increases and decreases. It increases if a person obeys and remembers Allah and decreases if they are heedless and commit sins.

The Prophet said:

“When you see Allaah giving the servant from the worldly affairs which he loves whilst he is upon disobedience, Indeed it is a gradual punishment (leading to his destruction), the he recited:

فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَبْوَابَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَرِحُوا بِمَا أُوتُوا أَخَذْنَاهُم بَغْتَةً فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْلِسُونَ

“So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them to punishment, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.”

A Concise Advice of Shaykh Ahmad An-Najmi

Al-Allaamah Ahmad Al-Najmi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“In order to be acquainted with the straight path one has to return to the Quran and the Sunnah, and that which has been affirmed in the seerah of the Prophet , the actions of the rightly guided caliphs and rightly guided scholars who came after them and this cannot be known except from the Hadith and by way of it, one will become acquainted with understanding in the religion and the rulings of the Sharee’ah, the actions of the Sahaabah and their creed, the actions of the early rightly guided imams -  those who (transmitted and based their lives on) hadeeth and were people of sound creed. Therefore, it is obligated on you to (adhere) to that; strive in (this path) and do everything within your capability to be acquainted with it.”

The Example of the Companions

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah (rahimahullaah) said:

The latter part of this ummah will not be rectified except by way of that which rectified its earlier part.

Imaam Maalik (rahimahullaah) said:

“The latter part of this ummah will not be rectified except by way of that which rectified its earlier part.”

He (rahimahullaah) also said, “Whoever innovates a bidah in islaam and considers it to be something good, then indeed he has claimed that Muhammad betrayed the risaalah (i.e. the message he was commanded to convey) because Allaah said, “THIS DAY I HAVE PERFECTED YOUR RELIGION FOR YOU.”

Therefore, what was not a part of the religion at that time cannot be part of the religion today.

The Character of Seeking Forgiveness

The Character of Seeking Forgiveness

Allaah Taala says:

And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah). (Hood:52)

Al-Hafidh Ibn Katheer -Rahimahullaah- said:

من اتصف بصفة الاستغفار يسر الله عليه رزقه وسهــل عليـه أمـره وحفظ عليه شأنه وقوته.

Whosoever is characterised with seeking forgiveness, then Allaah makes his provision easy for him, makes his matters easy for him and Allaah also protects his matters and provisions.

The Reason Behind Rejection Of Du'aa

Shaykh Salih Aal Shaykh (may Allah protect him):

Leaving commanding with good and prohibiting falsehood is a reason for non-acceptance of Duaa. So, people make duaa and they are not answered and this is a great calamity since we cannot suffice away from Allaah for a blink of an eye.

Surah 8. Al-Anfal verse 73 (Tafsir At-Tabari)

73. And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you  (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block under one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world) to make victorious Allāh’s religion of Islāmic Monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism) and oppression on the earth, a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism).[1]

-----------------------------------------------------------------

[1] (V.8:73) It has been mentioned in Tafsir At-Tabarī, that the best interpretation of this Verse: - [“And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you  (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block – V.8:73).”] is “That if you do not do what We (Allāh) have ordered you to do, [i.e. all of you (Muslims of the whole world) do not become allies as one united block to make Allāh’s  religion (Islām) victorious, there will be a great Fitnah (polytheism, wars, battles, killing, robbing, a great mischief, corruption and oppression.) And it is Fitnah to have many Khalifahs (Muslim rulers), as it has been mentioned in Sahīh Muslim by ‘Arfajah, who said: I heard Allāh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم saying: “When you all (Muslims) are united (as one block) under a single Khalifah (chief Muslim ruler), a man comes up to disintegrate you and separate you into different groups, then kill that man.”

Also there is another narration in Sahih Muslim: Narrated by Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri رضي الله عنه: Allāh’s Messenger  صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “If the Muslim world gave the Bai’a (pledge) to two Khalifahs (chief Muslim rulers), the first one who has given the Bai’a (pledge) first will remain as the Khalifah, then kill the latter (the second) one.”

So it is a legal obligation, from the above-mentioned evident proofs (from the Qur’ān and the Prophet’s statement), that there shall not be more than one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler) for the whole muslim world or otherwise there will be a great Fitnah (mischief and evil.) amongst the Muslims, the ultimate results of which will not be worthy of praise.
