لو أخر الإنسان صيام
الست من شوال عن أول الشهر ولم يبادر بها فإنه يجوز لقوله صلى الله عليه و
سلم" ثم أتبعه ستاً من شوال" فظاهره أنه ما دامت الست في شوال ولو تأخرت
عن بداية الشهر فلا حرج.

said: If a person doesn’t fast the 6 days of Shawwal at the beginning of the
month, that is permissible, due to his statement: “then he follows it up with 6
(days) from Shawwal.”* What is apparent from that is, so long as they’re within
the month, then it’s okay.

TRANSCRIBER'S NOTE: *Abu Ayyoub reported that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said “Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhan and then follows it by fasting six days during the month of Shawwal will be rewarded as if he had fasted the entire year.” [Muslim, at-Tirmithi, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood and Ahmad by way of Jabir].
