Questioner:
“Noble Shaykh!- May Allāh grant you tawfīq- A day or two will pass some people and
they would not have recited anything from the Qur’ān except [what is recited
in] the prayer. What is your advice to these individuals? And is that
[considered] hypocrisy?”
Shaykh
Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān
[Member
of Committee of Major Scholars|Riyadh, KSA]:
“This
is alienation [of the Qur’ān]. It is not hypocrisy – إن
شاء الله-;
rather, it is alienation [of it]. This is alienation and abandonment of the
Qur’ān. Therefore, the Muslim should make some time for himself every day for
the [recitation of] the Qur’ān, even if it was not much. He should make some
time every day for himself for reading the Qur’ān until he completes it.
It
is not befitting that a month is exceed without completing the [recitation of]
the Qur’ān. He should complete it at least [once] every month. Na’am.”
