: ذكر ابن القيم رحمه الله
أن أمير المؤمنين ﻋﻤﺮ ﺑﻦ ﺍﻟﺨﻄﺎﺏ – رضي الله عنه – قال
Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him mentioned that the Leader of the Believers ‘Umar bin Al-Khattaab may Allah be pleased with him said:
إﻥ ﺍﻟﺮﺟﻞ ﻟﻴﺨﺮﺝ ﻣﻦ ﻣﻨﺰﻟﻪ
ﻭﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﺬﻧﻮﺏ ﻣﺜﻞ ﺟﺒﺎﻝ ﺗﻬﺎﻣﺔ، ﻓﺈﺫﺍ ﺳﻤﻊ ﺍﻟﻌﻠﻢ ﺧﺎﻑ
ﻭﺭﺟﻊ ﻭﺗﺎﺏ، ﻓﺎﻧﺼﺮﻑ إﻟﻰ
ﻣﻨﺰﻟﻪ ﻭﻟﻴﺲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﺫﻧﺐ، ﻓﻼ ﺗﻔﺎﺭﻗﻮﺍ ﻣﺠﺎﻟﺲ ﺍﻟﻌﻠﻤﺎﺀ
“Verily a man will leave his house and upon him will be sins the likes
of Mount Tihaamah, then if he were to
hear some knowledge, he would fear, return and repent. So he would go back to
his home with no sin upon him. Therefore, do not leave the gatherings of the
scholars.”
