It is upon a slave that whenever he is afflicted or oppressed, he looks
at his own situation and the shortcomings in his deeds. And seeks rectification
of his own self and uprightness upon the truth.
For indeed, Allah tests the slave with different forms of afflictions to
confine him with regards to his errors, as well as his injustice towards himself
and others.
Ibn al-Qayyim, Rahimahullah, said: If it were not that He The Almighty
healed his slaves with the medicines of trials and tribulations, they would
indeed go beyond bounds and oppress and exceed the limits.
