Ibn Taymīyah said:
Musical
instruments are the intoxicants of the soul, they do more to the soul than does
wine.
When
listeners become intoxicated with the sound of music, shirk inhabits them, and
they deviate towards debauchery and oppression, so they commit shirk, kill
those whom Allāh has forbidden, and commit zinā.
