Shaykhul Islam Ibn al Qayyim رحمه
الله said “And what is
intended , is that these books which contain lies and innovation, it is a must
that they be destroyed and demolished, (and doing that with) these is foremost
over destroying bottles of intoxicants; This is because their harms (i.e. these
books) are greater than the harms of those . Likewise, one is not held liable
(i.e. for destroying these books) just as one is not held liable for breaking
the bottles of intoxicants and ripping the (leather) skins that contain it.”
