Verily, this hardens the heart...

Shaykh Al-Fawzān حفظه الله said:

The more the tongue utters speech void of the remembrance of Allāh, then the harder the heart becomes. Many people waste their time  with gossip, with speech that contain no benefit, and with laughter, play and heedlessness. Verily, this hardens the heart.

Sharh Kitāb al-Kabā’ir, p. 109

A Powerful Statement

Ibn Baz (May Allah have mercy upon him) said:

The statement la hawla  wa la quwwata illa bi Allaah (there is no might nor power except with Allaah) is a powerful statement that a lot  of it should be said: in the morning, evening and every time.

“Once the tongue ceases to engage in Allāh’s remembrance..."

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
Once the tongue ceases to engage in Allāhs remembrance, then it will only tell lies, spew profanity, and constantly engage in idle talk.

Shuraiy Al-Qaadhiy (rahimahullaah) said:

Indeed [when] afflicted by a calamity, I praise Allaah four times: I praise Allaah for not making the calamity greater than what it is. I praise Allaah for granting me patience. I praise Allaah for the reward I hope for in that calamity and I praise Allaah for not placing that calamity in the affairs of my religion.

Allah put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember Him, contemplates on the difference between them, thanking and show gratitude to Him.‎

205. And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and with fear and without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful.

Say These at the Right Time and Be Forgiven

In Al-Nasāʾī’s narration from Abū Hurairah alone, [who attributed it to Prophet and said]:

Whoever says:1

-he counted them as five on his fingers-and then said: “Whoever says them during a day or during a night or in a month and then dies on that day or that night or that month, will have his sins forgiven.”

Rated aī li ghairihi [authentic due to supporting narrations] by Al-Albānī in aī Al-Targhib wa-l-Tarhīb, vol. 3. P. 362.

1There is nothing to be worshiped in truth except Allāh, and Allāh is the greatest; there is nothing to be worshiped in truth except Allāh alone; there is nothing to be worshiped in truth except Allāh, and He has no one sharing [anything] with Him; there is nothing to be worshiped in truth except Allāh – to Him alone do all things belong and the decision over all things, and to Him alone is due all praise and gratitude; there is nothing to be worshiped in truth except Allāh, and there is no changing any situation and no ability to do so except as Allāh wills and ordains.

Increasing good actions

In Muslim, it is reported on the authority of Aishah رضي الله عنها that Messenger of Allāh said, Everyone  of the children of Adam has been created with three hundred and sixty joints; so he who declares  the Glory of Allāh (i.e., saying Allāhu Akbar), praises Allāh (i.e., Al-hamdu lillāh), declares Allāh to be One (i.e., Lā ilāha illallāh), glorifies Allāh, and seeks forgiveness from Allāh (i.e., Astaghfirullāh), and removes stone, or thorn, or bone from peoples path, and enjoins good and forbids evil, to the number of those three hundred and sixty, will walk  that day having rescued himself from Hell.

“Let your tongue always be moist with the remembrance of Allāh.”

Abdullah bin Busr رضي الله عنه said that a man asked the Prophet , O Messenger of Allāh! Verily, the sanctions of Islam have become too numerous for me (to perform them all). Inform me of something (simple) that I may always adhere to. The Prophet said, Let your tongue always be moist with the remembrance of Allāh.

The Day Of Arafah Is The Best Day Of The Year...

Al-Imam An-Nawawi said:

This day  (the day of Arafah) is the best day of the year for prayer, so it is necessary  that a person exhaust his effort  in dhikr, prayer and the recitation of the Qurān. And he should pray  with the various types of duaa; he should pray for himself, his parents, his family, his teachers, his companions, his friends, his beloveds, all those who did good to him and the Muslims generally. And he should be careful; totally  careful from being inadequate regarding all of that. For indeed this day can not be attained again (once it is lost).

A Cure for the Hardness of the Heart

A Cure for the Hardness of the Heart

The best of what has been advised with to cure the heart and the hardness of the heart is giving attention to the Noble Qur'aan, reflecting upon it, reading it often and remembering Allaah the Exalted and Glorious often.

Reading Qur'aan with reflection and remembering Allaah often, saying SubhaanAllaah walhamdulillah wa laa ilaaha illAllaah wAllaahu akbar, and SubhaanAllaahi wa bihamdihi SubhaanAllaahil Adheem, laa ilaaha illAllaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah lahulmulk walahul hamd yuhyee wa yumeet wa huwa 'alaa kulli shayin qadeer. All of these are reasons for the removal of the hardness of the heart.

Whenever I Waver And Become Indecisive - By Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah)

WHENEVER I WAVER AND BECOME INDECISIVE

SHAYKHUL-ISLAAM IBN TAYMIYYAH RAHIMAHULLAH SAID:

Indeed whenever I waver and become indecisive in my mind about an issue, or about something or a situation [which is  problematic for me] then I seek forgiveness from Allaah the Most High, a thousand times or more ,or less until He opens my chest for me and solves the problem which I was confused about. Even  if at  that time I was in a market place, or in a masjid or in a mountain pass or a school, that does not prevent me from the remembrance [of Allaah] and asking for forgiveness until I achieve my objective.
