Sh. Fawzān:
Fasting is beloved to Allāh, therefore it’s incumbent upon the fasting person to correct his intention for Allāh, and to make his intention to draw near to Allāh and to remain patient upon the hardship that one experiences when fasting, because it (i.e the hardship) is for the sake of obedience to Allāh. So upon one is to make their intention pure and upon one is to have patience.
