Description of the Qurʾān
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah summarizes the various names given to the Qurʾān by the Qurʾān, and from what he mentions is:
al-Kitāb (the book)
al- Qurʾān (the recital)
al-Mawʿiẓah (the admonition)
al-Raḥmah (the mercy)
al-Balāgh (the conveyance)
al-Karīm (the noble)
al-Majīd (the glorious)
al-ʿAziz (the mighty)
al-Mubārak (the blessed)
al-Tanzīl, al-Munazzal (the revelation)
al-Ṣirāṭ al-Mustaqīm (the straight path)
