Al-Marwathī (رَحِمَهُ اللهُ)
said:
“It was said to Abū ‘Abdullāh: A man who has 500 dirhams, do you think that he should spend it in the battlefield and jihād or in seeking knowledge?” He said: “If he is ignorant, then it is more beloved to me that he seeks knowledge.”
