The Advice of Imām Ibn Bāz to Shaykh Rabīʿ bin Hādī to Refute Every Opposer to the Sunnah

Shaykh Abū ʿAbdullāh Khālid al-Dhafīrī (حفظه الله) wrote:

The Shaykh al-ʿAllāmah Rabīʿ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī said in  his book, Izhāq Abāīl ʿAbd al-Laīf  Bāshmīl (p. 104): “I visited the noble Shaykh Ibn Bāz (hafidhahullāh) and he advised me to refute every opposer to the truth and the Sunnah, and what an excellent [piece of] advice, for how great it is and how most obligatory it is upon the one who is able to abide by it.” And I heard with my two ears Shaykh Ibn Bāz (rahimahullāh) saying, whilst addressing Shaykh Rabī: Yā Shaykh Rabīʿ, refute everyone who errs, if Ibn Bāz erred refute him, if Ibn Ibrāhīm erred, refute him…”

And he praised him with scented (i.e. fragrant) praises, and Allāh is a witness to what I say.
