It’s not Where or When you die but How you die
Shaykh Uthaymeen: O Muslims indeed man does not know where he is going
to die. And he does not know when he is going to die. As Allah the Exalted
said:
(٣٤) وَمَا
تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا ۖ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ
ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ
No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what
land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (Soorah Luqmān 31:34)
Therefore if we do not know what we will earn tomorrow
although this is from our actions then we definitely do not know when we will
die because this is from the actions of Allah the Exalted. And if we do not
know in what land we will die although we travel to various lands by our choice
then we do not know when we will die.
Thus the location of our death is unknown, and the time of
our death is unknown. We ask Allah to grant us and you a good ending.
The concern is not when will the person die or where the
person will die. The concern is not to die in Mecca or Madinah or any other
land. The concern is not to die on Friday, Monday or any other day of the week.
The only concern is in what condition you will die. This is
the concern. In what condition will you die?
Will you die upon faith, sincerity and Tawheed? We ask Allah
to grant this to all of us.
Or will you die upon doubt, Shirk, disbelief, and rejection?
This is the concern. This is the concern.
