Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله  mentions in his tafseer of the Saying of Allāh تعالى:

وَارْحَمْنَا ۚ

“& have mercy upon us.”

Meaning; bless us with Your mercy so that we do not fall into the prohibited affairs or that we do not fall short in the commandments (obligations).
