“…and incline not towards the dwelling of deception”
Imaam al-Aajurry said: It (i.e. the poem) was recited to me
by Aboo Bakr ʿAbdullaah bin Humayd
al-Muʾaddib1:
“Oh the one who has become heedless in the
shade of joy and blessing.
Be a stranger and take this world as a way of
transit and crossing.
Count yourself amongst the people of graves
throughout all the time.
Reject this world and incline not towards the
dwelling of deception."
