We Have Made You A Trial For One Another
Allāh said:
وَجَعَلْنَا
بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا
And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you
have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything).
Ibn Hazm (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:
“The trials faced by a person during their life are many,
and the greatest of trials is from his own kind, from humans. The disease
spread by mankind to mankind is greater than the disease of rabid predators and
poisonous snakes.
Precautions can be taken against all of what has been mentioned previously, but it is not possible to safeguard oneself from mankind at all.”
