Ibn
Sa’d [rahimahullaah] said in At-Tabaqaat that whenever Umar Ibn
Abdil Azeez delivered a sermon & feared self-amazement, he ended it; &
whenever he wrote a letter & feared self-amazement, he tore it and said, “O Allaah! I seek refuge with you from the evil of my Nafs”.
