The disbeliever will wish to remain in the torment of
the grave
Explained by Shaykh Fawzan
Shaykh Fawzan: As for the disbeliever, the punishment
of the grave will not be interrupted for him. Thus, he will remain in the
punishment of the grave. And yet, he will wish to remain in the grave because
the Hellfire is more severe than this punishment. He will say, ‘O my Lord do
not establish the Hour1!’ The disbeliever and the hypocrite will
say, ‘O my Lord do not establish the Hour’ (meaning the Day of Judgment). They
will wish to remain in the grave and remain patient with the punishment of the
grave because it is less severe than the punishment of the Hellfire. And with
Allah refuge is sought.
