إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ
Indeed, Allaah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (13:11)

Imaam Sufyaan Ibn ‘Uyaynah (d. 197H) رحمه الله
said:
“Scholars in the past used to write to each other mentioning
these words:
Whoever rectifies his secret deeds (done in private), Allaah
will rectify his open deeds (done openly).
And whoever rectifies that which is between him and Allaah,
Allaah will rectify that which is between him and the people.
And whoever works for the Hereafter, Allaah will suffice him the
affairs of his dunya (life of this world).”
