Dealing with Stubborn Deviants

Al-Imaam Abu Faaris al-Qayrawaanee [d. 750 AH], may Allah have mercy on him, said:

... Whoever is stubborn in his deviance, we don’t speak to him anymore, and curing him has become far-fetched. Thus, speaking to him is no benefit.  The one who speaks to him is striking cold metal.

Rather, we speak with a person who hasn’t been  immersed in their vessel, and  he hasn’t fallen into their pit; perhaps, he will remain safe from their harm, and he will be saved from their misguidance.

Al-Fatwaa al-Maalikiyyah, 18.
