Calling the soul to account

Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim  (May Allāh have mercy upon him) said:

“Indeed, the soundness of the heart is (attained) by calling the soul to account; while it’s corruption is by neglecting it and allowing it to take pleasure freely.”

Ighāthah Al-Lahfān p. 85

Random Quote of the Day

Im
ām ʿAbdur-Raḥmān As-Saʿdī رحمه الله said:

“The slave who knows that he will be questioned about what he says and does and about what he uses his limbs that Allāh has created to worship Him for, should prepare an answer to the questioning, and this can only be done by using them in worshipping Allāh, purifying the religion for Him (alone), and abstaining from what Allāh, the Most High, dislikes.”

Taysīr Al-Karīm Ar-Raḥmān p. 457
