Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله
said:
“One should not rely upon himself in (being upon) guidance, he should rather
ask Allaah constantly that He guides him and keeps him firm (upon guidance)
since it is Allaah (Alone) Who guides.
Therefore, do not be independent in
seeking guidance for yourself, always ask Allaah for guidance and for remaining steadfast upon it, and do
not be deceived by what you have with you of eemaan (faith), for indeed a
person’s amazement with his actions can lead to them becoming null and void.”
