al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رَحِمَهُ
اللهُ
said:
“And fitnah (trial and
tribulation) does not befall except by abandoning that which has been commanded
by Allāh. For verily, He the Sublime has commanded truth and He has commanded
patience. Therefore, trial and tribulation befall either by abandoning the
truth or by abandoning patience.”
