Ash-Shaikh Al-Allāmah Sālih
al-Fawzān (may Allāh preserve him) said:
At the end of the month (of Ramadān), the pious predecessors used to increase in seeking forgiveness and repentance to Allāh, The Mighty and Majestic – they used to fear that it is not accepted, they used to strive during Ramadān and other than it.
Then, the fear of nothing of it
being accepted from them will occur to them and they will seek the forgiveness
of Allāh and they will repent. It was even narrated that they used to pray to
Allāh six months (before Ramadān) that Allāh makes them reach the month of
Ramadān, if Allāh makes them reach it, they will fast and stand at night (in
prayer) and they will pray to Allāh for [another] six months that He accepts
from them the month of Ramadān.
