Imam Ibn Al
Qayyim may Allah have mercy upon him said:
One of the
Salaf encountered a man and the man
became harsh with him and harmed him. He said to the man “Stop, let me enter my
home and then I will come back out.” So he entered his home prayed to Allah and
repented to his Lord, then went back outside. The man asked him.”What did you
do?” He replied: “I repented to Allah from the sin that sent you against me.”
