“Yes, but whoever submits his face
(himself) to Allah and he is a Muhsin then his reward is with his Lord (Allah),
on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.” (Al-Baqarah: 112)
Shaikh Salih bin Fawzan al-Fawzan commented on this verse
saying;
“The statement “whoever submits his face (himself) to
Allah” means “whoever is sincere to Allah in outwards
and inwards”.
And the statement “and he is a Muhsin” means that he follows the Messenger
(sallallahu ‘alayhi
wasallam) and no one other than the Messenger. He does not blind follow any
other than the Messenger. Rather, his role model, his example is the
Messenger (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) in his worship. So he does not worship
Allah with that which was brought by so and so. Or by that which a so and so
Shaikh has brought or by the way of the so and so Soofee methodology or by ways
similar to that.”
