Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728H) on How to Achieve Happiness | Trans by Sunnah Publishing

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728H) on How to Achieve Happiness:

Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah –rahimahullaah- said, “And since happiness in this life and the Hereafter is achieved by following the Messengers (‘alayhimus-salaam), then it is well-known that those who are most deserving of that happiness are the individuals who are the most knowledgeable concerning the narrations of the Messengers (‘alayhimus-salaam) and who follow those narrations. So those who follow the Messengers and act in accordance to their statements and actions are the people who achieve happiness in every time and place. And they are the Saved Sect from every religion. And they are Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Hadeeth from this Ummah. So they share with the rest of the Ummah with regards to the affairs of the Religion, but they distinguish themselves by what they follow from the knowledge that has been inherited from the Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), from that which the others are either ignorant about or in denial.” Refer to Majmoo ‘ul-Fataawa (4/26) of Ibn Taymiyyah.
