On the authority of ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar who said, the Messenger صلى
الله عليه وسلم said:
“The
salām [i.e. greeting of Islām] comes before asking a question, whoever begins
with some (other) speech before the salām then do not respond to him.”
