Imām Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn al-Ājurrī (d. 360 AH) - رحمه الله – said,
“Many of the people do not know how to perform the obligations, nor how to avoid the unlawful matters, nor how to worship Allāh
except due to the presence of the scholars amongst them. So when the scholars
die, the people are
left in confusion. Knowledge is lost with their deaths and ignorance becomes
prevalent. We belong to Allāh to him we return. What a major calamity this is
for the Muslims!”
