One of the children of Imām as-Sa’dī (رَحِمَهُ
اللهُ) narrates:
My father, may Allāh have mercy upon him, was once on the roof of the Masjid
fixing one of the gutters. A passerby asked: “Why, O Shaykh?” He replied:
“Tomorrow we will pray al-Istisqā [the rain prayer].”
(This
was due to his good thought of Allāh and tawakkul and firmly believing that Allāh
would answer their supplication.)
