قال الذهبي: "ينبغي للعالم أن يتكلم بنية و حسن قصد، فإن أعجبه
كلامه فليصمت، فإن أعجبه الصمت فلينطق، ولا يفتر عن محاسبة نفسه، فإنها تحب الظهور
والثناء.
Al-Ḥāfiẓ
al-Dhahabī (رَحِمَهُ اللهُ) stated:
“The person of
knowledge should speak with a good and sincere intent. If his speech amazes
him, he should remain quiet. If remaining quiet amazes him, he should speak,
and he should never cease examining his soul, for indeed it loves fame and
praise.”*
