Ruling on Salah offered by someone who forgets the first Tashahhud and Sujud ul-Sahw - Shaykh Ibn Baaz

Ruling on Salah offered by someone who forgets the first Tashahhud and Sujud ul-Sahw*

Q: What should  a praying person  do if they forget to recite the first Tashahhud (a recitation in the sitting position  in the second/last unit of Prayer) and then forget to perform Sujud-ul—Sahw (Prostration of Forgetfulness)?

A: If they remember after the Taslim (salutation of peace ending the Prayer), they should perform Sujud-ul-Sahw. However, according to the more correct of the two opinions of scholars, if the period between the two actions (Taslim and remembering) is long, they are exempted from performing it. May Allah grant us success.

Our Shaykh Muqbil Ibn Hadi - رحمه الله - on Seeking Beneficial Knowledge

Our Shaykh, the Muḥaddith of the lands of Yemen, Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wad’ī on Seeking Beneficial Knowledge
Translated by Abū al-Ḥasan Mālik Ādam al-Akhḍar

Our Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hādī al-Wad’ī  رحمه الله said:

”So indeed, I advise anyone who has been granted understanding and hopes that Allāh عز و جل  will  benefit by him  Islām and the Muslims and honors Allāh’s religion, not to allow the pursuit of [university] degrees to avert him from seeking beneficial knowledge.  For how many people have a doctorate degree in Islamic Fiqh and have fiqh of nothing? And how many people have a degree in ḥadīth and do not understand a ḥadīth? Thus, these degrees allow scores of people to obtain positions they do not deserve. So how does the title “Dr.” benefit you, and you are ignorant of Allaah’s legislation?” [1]

Don't just listen and take knowledge from anyone! Ask yourself, "Are the Salafi Scholars in agreement with him?"

Al-Barbahārī and Al-Fawzān: Consider Who You Sit With And Listen To. Especially In These Times!

Imaam Al-Barbahāri رحمه الله said: ”Beware, and then beware, in particular with respect to people in your time. Look into who you sit with, and to whom you listen to, and who you accompany…”

Shaikh al-Fawzān commented:”And this is not specific to his time. Rather in every age there appear evils, and there appear misguided desires, and there appear false calls. So Barbahārī was stern in his warning to the Muslim,  so he should take heed of the warning.” See It-hāful-Qārī, vol. 2 p. 236.

“The first thing to be removed and lifted from this Ummah is the humility and reverence of Allaah, until you will not see anyone in it (the Ummah) having no humility and reverence of Allaah.”

Being Shy From Allaah - Al Allaamah Rabee bin Hadee Al-Madkhali

Al Allaamah Rabee Bin Hadee Al-Madkhali –Allaah preserve him- said:

“It is obligated on us to be shy of Allaah in this life and the hereafter [by doing what He has commanded and keeping away from what He has forbidden in this life and being shy of meeting Him in the Hereafter in a state of disobedience]. By Allaah! No one commit sins, perpetrate crimes and oppression except one who has  little or no shyness. Shyness is a great affair;  and from its great benefits is that you might intend to commit a sin, then you approach and walk towards it, [but] then you remember and say: ”Indeed, my Lord sees me and hears me”; so, you become embarrassed and fearful at the same time .

Therefore, that shyness and fear urges you towards refraining from committing [the sin]. Shyness is a great  restraint – shyness and fear [of Allaah] together with true faith. Therefore, it is obligated on us to strengthen our Eemaan [Faith in Allaah] and nurture shyness [in our hearts] by studying the biography of the Prophets [Peace and Blessings be upon them].

Remain Steadfast Upon The Sunnah!

Shaikh Muqbil Bin Haadee (rahimahullaah) said:

“We do not have time to defend ourselves; but we [defend[ the Sunnah. And even if we are tormented by way of fierce battle, we will not leave anyone who speak against the Sunnah of the Messenger [Sallaal-laahu-alayhi wa-alaa-aalihi-wasallam] be he a Shee’ee, a Soofee or from Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen [i.e. the deviated sect- the Muslim brotherhood of Egypt and else-where] because we are to sacrifice [ourselves] for the Sunnah and our objective is the Sunnah.”

If Your Dua Has Yet to be Answered Look Within

Ibn Rajab رحمه الله  said:

As for the believer, if he waits a long time for relief, and he begins to despair of it after a lot of Dua and begging, and yet the signs of his Dua being answered are not apparent; he revisits his soul and places the blame upon it.

He says to his soul:”I only came through you, and if there were any good in you I would have been answered”.

This self-reproach is more beloved to Allah than many acts of obedience, for surely it necessitates the slave humbling himself before his Master while acknowledging that he is deserving of the calamity that befell him and he is not deserving of his Dua being answered. At this point the answer to his Dua will be hastened for him along with relief from his distress.
