Ask Allah a Lasting Faith

Mu’āwiyah b. Qurrah reports that Abū Al-Dardā` used to say, “We ask Allāh for a lasting faith (īmān), true certainty and beneficial knowledge.”Mu’āwiyah b. Qurrah then said, “So this indicates that there is a type of faith that does not last, and a type of certainty that is not true, and a type of knowledge that is not beneficial.”

السرور وطيب النفس وانشراح الصدر من النعيم

 قال صلى الله عليه وسلم:

 "لا بأس بالغنى لمن اتقى

والصحةُ لمن اتقى خير من الغنى

 وطيبُ النفس من النعيم " رواه ابن ماجه وصححه الألباني.

 والنعيم سنسأل عن شكره قال تعالى (ثم لتسألن يومئذ عن النعيم).

Shaikh ‘Alī al-Ḥaddādī, may Allāh protect him, said:

Happiness, feeling good [inside] oneself, having a heart that [feels] wide and open are from the comforts [and enjoyments of life].

The Messenger ﷺ  said: “It is not a cause of harm to have wealth for one who acts with fear [of Allāh], [while] health,  for one who acts with fear [of Allāh], is better than wealth. And feeling good [inside] oneself is from the comforts [and enjoyments of life]. Ibn Mājah narrated it, and Al-Albānī rated it saḥīḥ [authentic].

And we will be asked about how [we] showed thanks for the comforts [and enjoyments of life]. The All-High said:

ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ

Again then, [by Allāh,] you will most definitely be questioned on the Day [of Resurrection] about every kind of good thing [you] enjoyed in life. [Al- Takāthur: 8, English meaning]

FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

Tafseer of verse 1 of Soorah Ibraahim From Tafseer S’adi

الر ۚ كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيد₁

 

Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darkness into the light by permission of their Lord – to the path of the All Mighty, the one  deserving of all praise

Allaah the Most High states that He has revealed His Book¹ to his Messenger ﷺ for the benefit of the creation in order to bring them out of the darkness of ignorance, disbelief, wicked character and all types of sin to the light of knowledge, faith and good mannerisms.²

And His saying (by His permission) meaning: they are not able to achieve this goal which is beloved to Allaah except by the will of Allaah and with His assistance. Therefore in this verse there is an encouragement for the servants to seek assistance from their Lord.

Then He explains the light which they are guided to by way of this book (the Qur’an); so He says (to the path of the all mighty the one  deserving all praise) meaning (the path) that takes you to Him and to  the abode where He honours the believers. It (the path) is composed  of the knowledge of the truth and acting in accordance to it.

And the mention of (All Mighty, the one deserving of all praise) after  the path which leads to Him is an indication that whoever traverses this path he is mighty by the might of Allaah. He is strong even if he he was to have no supporters, save Allaah. He is praised in his affairs  and having a good ending.

¹ Ibn Katheer states in his exegesis to the verse ‘…It is the glorious Qur’an which is the most noble of the books which Allaah revealed from the heavens to the most  noble  of the messengers that Allaah sent to earth and to all of its people, the Arabs and the non Arabs amongst them.

² Qurtubi states in his exegesis to this verse, ‘…it is said to bring them out of Bid’ah to the Sunnah, from doubts to certainty…’

Not performing Sujud on the seven organs | Fatwas of Nur ‘Ala Al-Darb

Q: I notice that some people perform Sujud (prostration) without using all the seven organs that should be used in Sujud. I hope that you will draw their attention to that. May Allah reward you with the best.

A: All Muslims should perform Sujud using the seven organs: the face, forehead, nose, hands, knees  and the edges of the two feet (i.e., toes), as doing so is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: <<I  have been  commanded  to perform Sujud on seven bones: on the forehead -  and he pointed to his nose – both hands, both knees and the edges of both feet (i.e., the toes).>> All Muslims, men and women, should be keen on performing that as it is one of the necessary Rukns (integral pillars) of Salah (Prayer). Therefore, it is impermissible to be linient  in that matter. The worshipper should perform Sujud on these seven organs in all of the Faridah (obligatory) and Nafilah (supererogatory) Salahs because the Salah of whoever intentionally does not perform this is Batil (null and void). If the worshipper forgets to do that in their Salah and was able to do it at once, they should do so. If they have not remembered until the following Rak’ah (unit of Prayer), they should offer another Rak’ah instead of it. The second Rak’ah compensates for the previous one in which they have not performed Sujud on one or two of the seven organs. Therefore, Sujud should  be performed using all the seven organs, and it is impermissible to leave any of these organs in Sujud either in Faridah or in Nafilah Salah. If the worshipper forgets and raises his hands and does not perform Sujud on it or on either of their knees, then they remember while performing the following Rak’ah, they should perform another Rak’ah instead of it and perform Sujud-ul-Sahw (Prostration of Forgetfulness) before Taslim (salutation of peace ending the Prayer).
